In short

Macho Steak Bucheon is a casual steak restaurant on the first floor of 17 Seokcheon-ro 178beon-gil, Wonmi-gu, Bucheon, near City Hall Station. Visiting with a younger sibling, the writer ordered the Macho tenderloin steak and the iron-plate beef bibimbap, and the tender steak and piping-hot bibimbap tasted different enough to enjoy in turns. For an easygoing steak treat in Bucheon, Macho Steak Bucheon's best order for two is one steak plus one iron-plate dish.

My younger sibling came to visit for the first time in ages, and just eating at home felt like a waste. We wanted to go out for something really good. I'd seen that Macho Steak had opened in Bucheon and had been wanting to try it, so we went right away. We're both meat lovers, so steak is hard to get wrong. The place looked nice too, a good spot for a meat date in Bucheon, and we had a proper treat with a good meal together.

Is Macho Steak Bucheon easy to find?

The restaurant is on the first floor along Seokcheon-ro 178beon-gil, so even first-timers shouldn't have trouble finding it. The exterior is clean and casual, more of an easy-to-walk-into place than a stuffy steakhouse.

Steakhouses can sometimes feel too heavy, or too pricey right from the door, but this one had a "let's go eat some good meat today" feel from the entrance, haha. The location is convenient for meeting up in Bucheon, and it looked fine for a date, a get-together with friends or a family meal.

Inside Macho Steak Bucheon: atmosphere and solo bar seats

Inside, the restaurant felt clean and tidy overall. It wasn't noisy or chaotic, so it was comfortable to sit and eat, and the tables didn't feel cramped, which made it easy to chat with my sibling.

The lighting and interior are decent for food photos, which suited someone like me who loves taking pictures. It felt like a casual Western restaurant in Bucheon rather than a stiff fine-dining place, so even on a first visit I could eat comfortably.

The single-person bar seats are great for eating alone too! Next time I'm coming by myself!

An open kitchen where you can watch your steak cooked

One thing I liked about Macho Steak Bucheon was the open kitchen. You can see the cooking right there, so you can check how the food is being prepared, and the feeling of steak being grilled on the spot made me look forward to it even more. You could clearly see the chef focused on cooking, and he somehow gave off a real presence.

What should two people order at Macho Steak Bucheon?

We ordered the Macho tenderloin steak and the iron-plate beef bibimbap (mixed rice bowl). After some thought, steak alone felt like it might not be quite enough, and since there was a bibimbap on the menu, I figured the two together would make a good combination.

To get to the point: ordering both was the right call. One meat dish and one iron-plate dish meant the flavors didn't overlap, and it was nice to alternate between them.

How was the iron-plate beef bibimbap?

The iron-plate beef bibimbap was even more satisfying than I expected. It came out on a hot iron plate, so it stayed warm to the very end, and as the meat, rice and sauce mixed together, a savory aroma rose up.

I'd assumed bibimbap would be ordinary, but the crispy rice stuck to the iron plate was a surprising treat. With meat in it, it was filling, and eating it with the steak cut the richness, so the pairing worked well. Especially one bite of Macho tenderloin steak followed by a spoonful of iron-plate beef bibimbap: the meat flavor carries through but it's still fun to eat something different!

For two people, I recommend one steak plus one iron-plate dish.

Is the Macho tenderloin steak tender?

The Macho tenderloin steak chewed softly and wasn't dry inside. The look of it caught my eye first when it arrived, and with hot steak and rice served together, it felt filling enough as a full meal.

Maybe because it's tenderloin, the meat was tender to chew, and the outside was nicely seared, so I was satisfied throughout. When steak is tough, I don't want to keep eating it no matter how good the sauce is, but this one was easy to slice and eat.

The meat has a clean, mild flavor of its own, so it's good with a light dip in the sauce and it also goes well with rice!!

Looking for a casual steak spot in Bucheon?

I liked that Macho Steak Bucheon is a place where you can enjoy steak without any pressure. When people say they're going out for meat in Bucheon, you tend to think of pork belly or galbi (ribs) first, but it's nice to switch things up with a steak now and then.

It seemed good for a date, for a meal with friends, and, like me, for a casual family outing. So if you're searching for a steak place in Bucheon, it's worth putting on your list.

I first went out of curiosity because it was a newly opened steakhouse in Bucheon, but the menu was better than I expected and the atmosphere was relaxed, so I was happy with it. The Macho tenderloin steak was tender and filling, and the iron-plate beef bibimbap was great eaten piping hot, so the combination of the two especially stuck with me.

I'd recommend Macho Steak Bucheon to these people. I'm 100% going back!!
