I was craving a handmade burger a while back, so I went back to Downtown Daegu Believe Heritage with my younger sibling for the first time in a while. I'd been happy with it on my first visit, which is why I returned, and this time again I loved the combo of juicy patties and fresh ingredients.

The signature Downtown Burger never gets boring, and this time we also ordered onion rings and Kiri cream cheese chicken bites, so it was an extra filling meal. It's easy to go on a date, or with friends or family, and with the clean shop and those juicy burgers, I think I'll be thinking about it often!

Downtown Daegu Believe Heritage is at 20 Deuran-ro 73-gil, Suseong-gu, Daegu, on the 1st floor of Building 302, and for parking you use the Doyu Suseong parking lot. Order ₩30,000 or more and you get 1 hour free, so driving there is no burden. The exterior already has a stylish feel, so it catches your eye even if you're just passing by.

What are the atmosphere and the self-serve bar like?

Inside, Downtown Daegu Believe Heritage is spacious and pleasant, with plenty of room between tables, so my sibling and I could eat comfortably. The wood-tone interior, stylish posters and soft lighting felt like a brunch café.

It looked fine for eating alone too, and it suits a visit with friends or a partner.

In one corner there's a self-serve bar with two kinds of pickles, original and spicy, so you can take whichever you like. I tried the spicy pickles with my burger, and the crunchy texture with a mild kick cut the richness and cleaned up my mouth, which I liked.

What should you order at Downtown?

You can order at either the counter or the kiosk, whichever is easier. We used the kiosk, which shows photos of the menu items, so even first-timers can order easily.

We figured the signature burger would let us taste Downtown at its most Downtown, true to the name, so we ordered 2 Downtown Burgers along with onion rings and Kiri cream cheese chicken bites.

After eating, you return your tray yourself at the return window. It's a self-service system, and it seemed to keep the shop tidy.

How does the signature Downtown Burger taste?

The food came out without a long wait after ordering, and it looked really appetizing on the tray!

The burger is quite tall, but it comes with paper wrapping, so I could eat it comfortably without getting my hands messy.

I started with the Downtown Burger. It's the signature, with a beef patty, bacon, American cheese, grilled onion, romaine, tomato and house sauce, and I really felt the saying that the basic one is the best!

The moment I took a bite, the patty juices burst in my mouth,,, The thick patty was savory with no gamey smell, and the beefy flavor got stronger the more I chewed. Add the salty bacon and rich cheese and the flavor really comes alive. The Downtown Burger is what I'd recommend most to first-timers!

Which side dishes go well with the burger?

Kiri cream cheese chicken bites

Personally, the item I was most looking forward to was the Kiri cream cheese chicken bites. They're bite-sized and easy to eat, and the chicken is crispy outside and juicy inside, with a creamy cheese flavor that gives them a different kind of charm.

I'd worried they might be too rich, but the cheese spreads out mildly and was easy to eat, and with a charm different from the burger, I was really glad I ordered them as a side! My sibling called the chicken bites the surprise best item and finished every last one, haha

Onion rings

Eating only the burger felt like a shame, so we added onion rings, and they were satisfying too. Bite in and they're crispy outside and juicy inside, the batter isn't too thick so they aren't greasy, and the natural sweetness of the onion comes through, so I kept reaching for more.

Dipped in the ketchup that came with them, the sweet-and-sour taste lifts the flavor of the onion rings even more. They were good without ketchup too, but personally I enjoyed them more with it!

Downtown Daegu Believe Heritage is a great spot in Suseong, Daegu, for really enjoying a handmade burger. The sides were as good as the burgers, and the clean shop and relaxed atmosphere made mealtime fun, haha
