What is Andover on Pangyo Café Street like?
Andover is a Western restaurant on Pangyo Café Street where you can enjoy everything from brunch to pasta, risotto and wine. I was looking for a place with a nice atmosphere on Pangyo Café Street and ended up here. It looks great for dates and get-togethers too. This time I went for dinner.

The clean white exterior with a black sign looks so good together that it catches your eye even if you're just walking past!

How do reservations and ordering work at Andover?
If you book ahead, Andover sets your table with flowers and a reservation sign, and you order through the QR code on each table. Inside, the big floor-to-ceiling windows make the space feel really open. My reserved table had flowers and a reservation sign on it, and isn't that such a thoughtful, pretty touch, haha.
You check the menu with the QR code and order right away... No need to call a staff member, which was convenient, and adding more orders later was easy too.
Here's what we ordered!
- Flounder steak & baguette
- Mushroom cream risotto
- Shrimp bisque pasta (spicy)

What are Andover's seating and atmosphere like?
Andover has plenty of window seats, plus everything from tables for two to group seating and outdoor tables, so it works for dates and for gatherings. The outdoor tables look great for brunch or a glass of wine on a nice day, and once evening came and the lights turned on, the mood got even prettier.
Overall, the black and wood-tone interior blends together nicely, giving a calm yet stylish feel. The tables are also spaced widely apart, so eating there was comfortable.

A wine fridge and a small market of house-made goods
On one side of Andover there's a wine fridge and a display of various ingredients, along with what looked like house-made sauces and meal kits for sale. I looked around while waiting for our food, and the wine selection was varied too. The owner told us everything is made in-house. They even make their own jambon (Korean-style ham) and meatballs, and I really wanted to try them. It's a brunch café that also feels like a little market, so browsing was fun.

The tableware, napkins and self-service bar were neatly arranged, and the restroom is inside the restaurant, which made it easy to use.

The three dishes we ate at Andover
The flounder steak & baguette, mushroom cream risotto and spicy shrimp bisque pasta all came out at once. The table was packed with food, and it all looked so pretty too. It felt like a feast for the eyes.
Mushroom cream risotto: grilled king oyster mushroom and rich cheese aroma
Andover's mushroom cream risotto comes topped with big king oyster mushrooms, and the cream sauce isn't heavy but has a strong cheese aroma. It was the first dish I tried. The mushroom's surface was grilled golden, so the texture was great, and it was moist and cooked just right.
The cream sauce had a strong cheesy aroma that kept me going back for more! Even though it's cream, it wasn't greasy. The rice grains kept a bit of bite too, so the texture was good, not mushy.

Shrimp bisque pasta (spicy): whole shrimp and al dente noodles
Andover's shrimp bisque pasta is topped with big whole shrimp, and the bisque sauce brings out the shrimp's deep savoriness without being too salty. It was the dish I was most looking forward to, and it was overwhelming from the very look of it!
The shrimp was especially springy, and the shell came off easily, so it was easy to eat. The noodles were cooked nicely al dente and went so well with the sauce. Taking a bite of shrimp and then eating pasta with it made the flavor really come alive. It tasted like a proper Pangyo pasta restaurant. If you want pasta in a place with a nice atmosphere, this is a dish I'd recommend.

Flounder steak & baguette: clams in oil sauce, plus baguette
At Andover, the flounder steak & baguette is fried flounder served piping hot in a pan with oil sauce, so it stays warm to the very end. The flounder had soaked up plenty of the oil sauce, so it was really moist. There was no fishy taste at all, and as a mild white fish it's an easy dish for anyone to enjoy.
The mushrooms, tomatoes and broccoli served alongside went well with it, and dipping the baguette generously in the sauce and topping it with a clam was a really delicious combination. The baguette was so good I wanted to order more of it.

The free iced Americano after the meal
After we finished eating at Andover and were chatting, the owner brought us iced Americanos on the house. The owner was so kind, and the coffee here is good too, haha. Sipping coffee and talking at leisure in the quiet atmosphere was so relaxing and lovely.
Once evening came, the outdoor view through the big windows was pretty and the lighting was soft, so I totally recommend it for a blind date or a date!

Andover is a Pangyo Café Street restaurant with a lovely atmosphere where you can enjoy everything from brunch to pasta, risotto and wine. The owner is so kind and warm that regulars even come from Cheongju, and although I've only been once, I'm already booking as a regular, haha.
If you're looking for a great pasta place in Pangyo, I really recommend the shrimp bisque pasta! The quiet atmosphere is good for eating, so it's perfect for dates, blind dates and anniversaries, as well as brunch with friends. I'm going to go for brunch with friends soon :)
