Army stew in Misa, Hanam: one pot each, basic and soft tofu, Masisso
In short
Masisso Budae Jjigae Misa Station Direct Store is a one-pot-per-person army stew (budae jjigae) restaurant on Misagangbyeondong-ro in Hanam, Gyeonggi. On a rainy weekday lunch, two diners each got their own pot, a basic army stew (10,000 won per person) and a soft tofu army stew (11,000 won), cooked on a two-burner induction table, and added fried eggs and extra sausage. For hygienic army stew where no one shares a pot, even in a group, Masisso Budae Jjigae is a good fit.

Whether you go as a pair or a group of three, everyone gets their own army stew here, which is great for hygiene. Let me introduce Masisso Budae Jjigae (마시쏘부대찌개), an army stew (budae jjigae, a spicy stew with sausage, ham and noodles) restaurant in Hanam.

Parking and entrance at Masisso Budae Jjigae Misa Station Direct Store
Masisso Budae Jjigae Misa Station Direct Store (마시쏘부대찌개 미사역직영점) is on the 1st floor of a building on Misagangbyeondong-ro in Hanam. The parking lot is large, so driving is no trouble. You have to enter through the front door.
I visited at lunchtime on a weekday, with the rain drizzling down. I parked easily and came up to the 1st floor. With rain like that I wished there was a back door too, but that's the kitchen, so it's the front door for you!

Seating and how to order
The restaurant has bar-style seats for solo diners and about three tables for two, with seats facing each other. You order at the kiosk by the entrance, which is easy.

How much does the menu cost?
The basic army stew at Masisso in Hanam is ₩10,000 per person. Here are the other prices.
- Basic army stew ₩10,000
- Soft tofu army stew ₩11,000
- Beef belly army stew ₩12,000
- Korean beef intestine army stew ₩13,000
- Intestine and shrimp army stew ₩14,000
- Fried eggs, 2 for ₩2,000

Spice level and add-ons
You can pick the spice level on the kiosk. The ramen noodle add-on is half a pack by default, and choosing a full pack costs ₩500 extra. I went with the default spice level and half a pack of ramen.
You have to have a fried egg before the meal, right? And an army stew needs plenty of ham and sausage to make the broth rich and thick. So I added 2 fried eggs and a sausage add-on.

One pot per person on a two-burner induction table
The tables at Masisso have two induction burners attached, so even two people can each set a pot on and cook separately. I'd never used a table with two induction burners built in before, and it seems designed just right for army stew.

Instead of one big pot cooked for 2-3 people, you get one pot and one army stew per person. I really liked that, hygiene-wise.

What do the basic and soft tofu army stews look like?
I ordered the basic army stew and the soft tofu army stew. They come with a base broth, seasoning paste (dadaegi), assorted toppings and a spoonful of garlic on top. The place was busy, but the food came out quickly, so there was no waiting, which I liked.

Adding 2 fried eggs for ₩2,000 was a good call
Adding 2 fried eggs for ₩2,000 at Masisso was a good call. They say eating a fried egg on an empty stomach keeps your blood sugar from spiking as much, and that having protein before carbs is good for your health.
Maybe because they were freshly fried, they were warm, and the yolk in the middle broke just a little, which tasted great. The first bite of fried egg is always delicious, and it's one of my favorite foods.

The broth and how it tastes
At Masisso, the bubbling army stew broth base is the same for every menu item, and only the pots come separately, which makes eating convenient. Nobody can steal bites of my food, so I felt a kind of peace of mind, haha.

I scooped some onto my small plate, let it cool a bit, and ate it with a spoon. An army stew full of ingredients is best when you scrape up every last bit of broth with a spoon.

After fishing out some sausage and ham, I dropped in the half pack of ramen noodles that came as a freebie and boiled it hard. The induction burner heats quickly, so you can eat fast, which is a plus.

Takeout and refills
Masisso in Hanam also does takeout.

On one side of the restaurant there's also a sign on how to enjoy Masisso army stew best. Side dishes are free to refill and white rice is unlimited at Masisso. I ate really well, thank you~~~
