Three of us visited Dolsoe Ssambap, a ssambap spot in Hanam Misa, and tried both the spicy stir-fried octopus ssambap and the jeyuk (spicy pork) ssambap together. I'd passed by this place many times while out and about in Misa and always wanted to try it someday — Dolsoe Ssambap‼️ This time I was really craving proper Korean food, so I went to check it out myself haha.

I generally love Korean food, but I especially love ssambap (wrap-and-rice), where you get to enjoy a variety of wrap greens and side dishes together! At a ssambap restaurant, instead of just eating one dish, there's the fun of wrapping fresh vegetables with meat or side dishes however you like — so I end up going back often. Don't you feel the same?? Dolsoe Ssambap is a place where you can enjoy a generous spread of wrap greens and side dishes all at once, so I went in with high expectations.

Dolsoe Ssambap's location and the mood at different times of day

Dolsoe Ssambap is located on Misagangbyeonhangang-ro in Hanam, and the area has not only apartment complexes but also buildings with offices! So based on my visit, I'd guess it's a popular lunch spot for nearby office workers!! I visited after the lunch rush, and customers were still steadily coming in, which gave me the sense that this is a genuinely popular place!

I'd recommend this place to anyone who loves Korean food, or to anyone dieting who wants to get plenty of wrap greens in their meal. Now let me tell you in detail how the jeyuk bokkeum (stir-fried pork) and octopus stir-fry tasted!

Menu and prices — how three people should order

The three of us ordered 2 servings of spicy stir-fried octopus ssambap (₩16,000) and 1 serving of Dolsoe jeyuk ssambap (₩14,000)!

Normally, all of Dolsoe Ssambap's ssambap menu items require a minimum order of 2 servings, but when I specially asked the owner, they kindly accommodated a 2-serving + 1-serving order!! Thanks to that, we got to taste both the jeyuk bokkeum and the octopus stir-fry, and I really appreciated the owner's flexibility and kindness in considering our situation.

The basic spread: 12 kinds of wrap greens and 12 side dishes

💟Right after we placed our order, the generous basic table setting arrived first. The wrap greens provided as the base were an impressive 12 varieties. Fresh vegetables like angelica leaf, pumpkin leaf, lettuce, red chard, cabbage, kale, spring greens, perilla leaf, romaine, chicory and kelp were all generously prepared, and the variety meant each wrap felt a little different!! The wrap greens were also very fresh, which was even more satisfying.

💟The basic side dishes also came out generously, with 12 varieties. Home-style banchan like seaweed stem, stir-fried zucchini, seasoned bean sprouts, stir-fried fish cake, seasoned cucumber, cabbage salad and kimchi were neatly laid out, and each one was easy to enjoy without feeling heavy. There was fun in tasting all the different side dishes even before the main dish arrived, and eating them with the wrap greens made for an even more satisfying spread.

Along with the basic side dishes, a clay pot of snail ssamjang (fermented soybean paste with snail), steamed egg, and doenjang (soybean paste) stew were all served together, completing an even more generous spread!!

💟The snail ssamjang was packed with plenty of snails, and wrapping fresh greens with jeyuk bokkeum or octopus stir-fry on top was the perfect combination!!

💟The steamed egg had a soft, moist texture as if freshly made, pairing well with the spicy dishes, and 💟the doenjang stew had a rich, savory flavor as if made with homemade soybean paste. Not just the main dishes but every single accompanying dish felt made with care, making for an even more satisfying meal!

While we were enjoying the generous basic spread, the main dishes we'd been waiting for — the octopus stir-fry and Dolsoe jeyuk bokkeum — arrived! They looked so appetizing that our chopsticks naturally reached for them first haha!

💟The octopus stir-fry impressed with its tender, not-at-all-chewy octopus. The spicy sauce was well soaked into the octopus, and thanks to the chewy yet tender texture, we kept reaching for more!

💟The Dolsoe jeyuk bokkeum had generously large chunks of meat, giving it great chew, plus a subtle smoky flavor that made it even more delicious. The seasoning wasn't too intense either, so it paired well with rice — but as someone who loves wraps, I thought it was best wrapped in the greens.

Piling fresh wrap greens with jeyuk bokkeum or octopus stir-fry, plus a dab of snail ssamjang, and wrapping it all into one big bite was truly the best combination. We enjoyed it so much that we finished all the wrap greens provided, but since refills are available, we got to keep enjoying it generously right to the end — very satisfying!!
