Seomyeon galbitang restaurant, ginseng in the pot: Gang Galbitang
Gang Galbitang Seomyeon is a galbitang (beef short rib soup) restaurant on the main road by Yeongkwang Bookstore, next to Bujeon Market in Seomyeon, Busan. For lunch the writer ordered wang galbitang, which came in a hot earthenware pot topped with a whole ginseng root plus a free portion of medium noodles, and refilled the side dishes at the self-service bar. Gang Galbitang Seomyeon is an easy, unfussy choice for a warm bowl of soup in Seomyeon, even when eating alone.
