Today I'm sharing my review of Yukhoe Gongjakso Sejong University branch (육회공작소 세종대점), near Children's Grand Park Station :) It's a 10-minute walk from the station, there are lots of other good restaurants and bars around, so it's easy to get to, the menu is varied, the prices are cheap and the food is tasty, so I'm recommending it as a good-value bar near Konkuk University Station! Check below for the address, hours, parking, reservations and the full review 🙏🏻
Yukhoe Gongjakso Sejong University branch: address, hours, parking and reservations
Yukhoe Gongjakso Sejong University branch is at 50 Gunja-ro, 1st floor, Gwangjin-gu, Seoul, and it's open every day from 5 p.m. to 6 a.m. (last order 5:55 a.m.). There's no parking, so you'll need to use a nearby paid or free public lot.
The restaurant sits on the restaurant street near Children's Grand Park Station :) As is usual for places on streets like this, parking isn't possible, so if you come by car you'll need to use a public car park nearby 🚗 But there are several public car parks 3–5 minutes away on foot, so parking is easy, and since it's close to the subway station it's also great if you're coming on foot :)
For app reservations, only Naver Map works! They're also listed on Catch Table, but you can't book directly there, so you have to reserve by phone :)
What does Yukhoe Gongjakso look like from outside?

The outside of Yukhoe Gongjakso Sejong University branch. It turns out Yukhoe Gongjakso is a chain with several branches.

The interior is wood-toned overall, with the familiar vibe you often see in university neighborhoods.

You can look over the menu outside beforehand, and there were chairs for waiting too.
Indoor seating and group tables

Inside Yukhoe Gongjakso Sejong University branch. The inside is even more familiar. Konkuk University is nearby, so lots of college students come, and even the fake cherry blossoms inside fit the decor of a university-area bar perfectly.

Such a familiar, comfy atmosphere ^_^ The tables at the back look usable as group seating. I can imagine college students holding their semester-start or semester-end gatherings here.
There are window seats too, and the middle window opens, so on nice days it seems you can sit with a half indoor, half outdoor feel. Of course, it was so hot when I visited that the windows were closed.
Yukhoe Gongjakso Sejong University branch menu

The menu at Yukhoe Gongjakso Sejong University branch!

The menu is really varied 🙆🏻♀️ There's beef tartare (yukhoe) and salmon, yakiniku (grilled meat), jokbal (braised pig's trotters), and skewers, plus plenty of tang (soups), jjigae (stews) and jeongol (hot pots). The sides are varied too, like salmon sushi, french fries and takoyaki, and the prices are all cheap. A good-value spot where you can order loads without worrying about the bill.
The complimentary side dish is egg soup (gyeran-tang).

What three women ordered for under ₩100,000
- Sejong-dae yukhoe double (beef tartare)
- Gravlax salmon sashimi
- Yakitori skewers
- Purinkle assorted fries
- Beef ramen
- 500cc draft beer
- Saero (soju)
- Cola
That's what we ordered 🧾 Pretty hearty for just three women, right?

It was so hot that day, so the beer was ice-cold and amazing.
Sejong-dae yukhoe (beef tartare) double

The beef tartare was fresh and delicious.

The egg yolk on top is the kicker. It was fresh and tasty, and the portion was huge too.

A variety of sauces comes with it too.
Gravlax salmon sashimi

The salmon was soft and delicious too.

I liked that they gave us plenty of vegetables on the side, and the salmon sashimi was just the right amount of fatty, tender and delicious. I think salmon sashimi tastes best topped with onion and wasabi.
Yakitori skewers

And the yakitori skewers! The skewers came in a big portion too. There were three ginkgo nut skewers, which as a ginkgo skewer lover made me very happy.

The skewers had no gamey smell, the seasoning was good, and none of them were too tough. And the ginkgo nuts weren't bitter or hard but soft and sweet, so they were amazing.
Beef ramen and Purinkle assorted fries

After eating so much greasy food I was craving something, so we ordered the beef ramen! It had lots of beef in it and a very strong, punchy flavor. There seemed to be loads of pepper in it too, and people like me who love intense ramen will really enjoy it.
For a final dessert, we cleared the Purinkle fries too, like pros.
Verdict: a good-value pub near Konkuk University?
Even after eating this much, the total order didn't go over ₩100,000, so the value was fantastic at Yukhoe Gongjakso Sejong University branch near Children's Grand Park Station. I recommend it as a bar near Konkuk University Station 🙆🏻♀️
