Eulji Darak Gangnam Station is a fusion Western restaurant on the 2nd floor of a building near Gangnam Station Exit 11 in Gangnam, Seoul, known for its omurice and pasta. Through an entrance designed to look like an elevator, the writer ordered the Darak omurice, the Darak rose pasta and a katsu sando. Staff asked whether to film before cutting open the omelet, and the katsu sando went well dipped in the omurice sauce. With a comfortable atmosphere and a well-rounded menu, Eulji Darak Gangnam Station is worth considering for a blind date or a wedding invitation meetup.

Study café in Sinnonhyeon: outlet seats & fig cake, Upper and Under

Upper and Under is a large dessert café on Gangnam-daero 102-gil in Gangnam, Seoul, about a 5-minute walk from Exit 6 of Sinnonhyeon Station, with seating from the basement level up to the 2nd floor. After a meal, the writer ordered five items at Upper and Under (an iced Americano, a salty caramel latte, fig cake, a plain financier and a salted chocolate financier) and noticed quite a few people working on laptops at the 2nd-floor outlet seats. Upper and Under suits anyone who wants roomy seating and a wide choice of desserts, and its not-too-sweet fig cake was the highlight.

Spicy shabu-shabu for 2 with dumplings, Giheung Station: Deungchon

Deungchon Shabu Kalguksu Giheung Station Branch is a shabu-shabu and kalguksu (knife-cut noodle soup) restaurant on basement level 2 of ICT Valley Building B in Giheung-gu, Yongin. On a chilly day, the writer ordered spicy mushroom kalguksu for 2 (₩10,000 each) with extra shabu beef (₩10,000) and had shabu-shabu, then kalguksu noodles, then fried rice cooked by the staff, with dumplings also included at the Giheung Station Branch. Deungchon Shabu Kalguksu is a solid pick for a hot, filling lunch or meal out near Giheung Station and Giheung-gu Office.

A couple ordered one basic and one jumbo sirloin gyukatsu, grilled the slices themselves on the tabletop brazier, and melted the Isigny butter served alongside in the pan first for extra flavor. The jumbo adds a whole extra cutlet, so Ichigyu's jumbo is worth ordering if you have a big appetite.

Garosu-gil Chinese restaurant katsuobushi chili shrimp course: Samsin

Samsin Garosu-gil is a Chinese restaurant serving course meals on Garosu-gil near Sinsa Station in Gangnam, Seoul. The writer and her mom ordered Course B for two and worked through Sokcho snow crab soup, Tokyo tangsuyuk (sweet and sour pork), a 3-piece dim sum sampler, katsuobushi chili shrimp, Taean potato jajangmyeon and meat jjamppong, and yuja pudding, with a mango sorbet added through a review event. Apart from a slightly sweet jajangmyeon, Course B at Samsin Garosu-gil satisfied from first dish to last and is an easy choice for a meal out with parents.
