On a day I was craving a handmade burger, I happened to have errands nearby, so I stopped by BAS Burger Seonyudo, a burger place near Seonyudo Park. BAS Burger isn't just about the burgers — they also let you eat unlimited potato chips, so this place comes to mind often.

BAS Burger Seonyudo has a long interior that stretches back deep into the space. People were already coming in for burgers in broad daylight, so we grabbed a seat near the entrance and went straight for the chips.

Unlimited potato chip refills and free mayo and ketchup

I remember the first day I visited BAS Burger — a generous pile of potato chips, and this is all free?? I actually prefer these crunchy chips to the potato sticks that usually come with a burger set, so finding out they're free — and unlimited refills, no less — was shocking.

The mayo and ketchup are unlimited too, so you can just scoop as much as you want and dig in — I remember being happy about that back then 🧡 and that same happy feeling came bubbling up all over again.

They keep refilling the chips, fried fresh every morning, so the tray never runs dry. While my husband was picking his order, I set the table and started munching right away — and I was still eating those chips even after finishing my burger, haha. Going back for seconds (or thirds) mid-meal is basically the rule here.

Dipping alternately into mayo and ketchup. There are a lot more sauce options around these days, but classic mayo and ketchup sauce are hard to dislike — nice to have a basic that just works. Dip and switch, dip and switch!

Why we chose the Double BAS Burger Combo over the set

The menu we chose was the Double BAS Burger Combo. We originally planned to get the Double BAS Burger Set, but since BAS Burger already gives you chips, we didn't really miss having fries.

That said, if you're someone who thinks burgers need fries no matter what, I'd recommend going for the set menu instead. If they fry chips this well, imagine how good their fries must be~~

Honestly, my husband is on a diet, so he skipped the fries and got zero-sugar cola too. I did wonder if bringing him to a burger place in the first place was the wrong call, haha, but the choices were mostly made around me.

What the Double BAS Burger looks like with lettuce instead of a bun

Here's the really unusual part — you can swap out the bun that wraps the patty for lettuce instead!

My husband asked for this option to cut carbs while dieting, and it felt a bit fussy at first, but I was curious how it would turn out. Maybe because the lettuce was sturdy, it wrapped the patty more neatly than I expected.

How the original Double BAS Burger tastes

As for me, I don't need to diet (?X) and don't have the willpower to try (OOOO), so I ordered it in its original form. The Double BAS Burger has double patties, and it lived fully up to its name — which is exactly why my husband was so satisfied watching me eat it.

A handmade burger that looks incredibly appetizing just to look at. Green lettuce, red tomato, yellow cheese, and a juicy brown patty all layered together — the classic hamburger look I've been fantasizing about since childhood, the fantasy food itself.

Some people mock the idea of a burger as America's staple food, but honestly, a hamburger is a pretty solid food nutritionally. It gets a bad rap as fast food or junk food because of the fries and cola it's usually paired with in a set — but a properly made handmade burger is a different story.

Even more so with fresh vegetables! With fresh onions and their special sauce, BAS Burger was a treat among treats. And the bun itself was so soft and fluffy — from the first bite to swallowing, it was pure happiness all the way through 🧡

Eaten thoughtfully(?), it could even pass as diet food — BAS Burger, a handmade burger restaurant worth knowing near Seonyudo Park. I liked that the chips were unlimited and the bun option so flexible.
