In short

Pizza Never Sleeps Hapjeong-Sangsu is an antique-style pizza restaurant within walking distance of Hapjeong Station in Mapo, Seoul. A pizza-loving couple came back as a group of three and ordered a large half-and-half for the first time, Corn Brown and Chicken Never Sleeps for ₩44,000, and were surprised by how big it was and how generous the toppings were. After many visits, Pizza Never Sleeps still tastes like the best pizza of their lives, a regular spot in Hapjeong.

There's a place my pizza-loving husband and I stop by at least once every time we go to Hapjeong: Pizza Never Sleeps Hapjeong-Sangsu. I've posted about it before with my own money, and this time too we ended up here naturally while out in Hapjeong.

I've been many times, and I'm happy with it every single time, so let me give an honest introduction for anyone looking for a good place to eat in Hapjeong.

How long is the wait at Pizza Never Sleeps Hapjeong-Sangsu, and where to park?

The restaurant is an easy walk from Hapjeong Station, and on weekends a wait is almost a given once lunchtime rolls around. It's just that popular, I guess. This time we came a bit early and got seated right away without waiting. If you're visiting on a weekend, I'd recommend hurrying a little or using a Naver reservation.

There's no dedicated parking lot, so you'll need to use a nearby public or paid lot. The public lots nearby are very likely to be full if you arrive late, so coming early is recommended.

Inside Pizza Never Sleeps Hapjeong-Sangsu: antique decor and chandeliers

The first thing you notice when you step inside is the big chandelier in the middle of the room. The antique interior and the lighting go together so well that the mood feels quite different from an ordinary pizza place, and I could see why people call it a great date spot in Hapjeong.

I remembered the atmosphere being lovely from before, and this time again there were lots of couples. The staff were friendly from ordering all the way through the meal, so we had a pleasant time the whole way through.

It was also convenient that both the waiting area and the restrooms are inside the restaurant.

Pizza Never Sleeps menu and sizes: how many people does a large feed?

Pizza menu at Pizza Never Sleeps Hapjeong

The signature menu items are Corn Brown and the Minari Gochujang Pork Belly Pizza (minari is water dropwort, a leafy Korean herb; gochujang is red chili paste). There are plenty of signature pizzas you won't easily find elsewhere. The toppings are really generous, so even first-time visitors tend to like it.

Pizzas come in two sizes, R and L. R suits 2–3 people and L suits 3–4. Half-and-half orders are possible too, which is great for trying several flavors together.

There's also pasta, chicken wings, fries, plus a good range of beer and soft drinks to go with the pizza.

Our first large half-and-half pizza for three

Large half-and-half pizza of Corn Brown and Chicken Never Sleeps

This time we ordered a large half-and-half of Corn Brown pizza and Chicken Never Sleeps pizza, for ₩44,000.

We usually come as a couple, so I'd only ever ordered the R size, but this time we had a third person, so I tried the L for the first time. The moment the pizza arrived I was shocked at how much bigger it was than I'd expected, and then shocked again at how generously it was topped.

What does the Corn Brown pizza taste like?

Corn Brown has always been my favorite, so I picked it again without a second thought, and the sweet-and-salty combo really works. The sweetness of the corn and the nutty richness of the brown cheese go together beautifully. If it's your first visit, please try it. It's the signature menu of Pizza Never Sleeps.

Trying the Chicken Never Sleeps pizza for the first time

I'd never ordered the Chicken Never Sleeps pizza before, and personally it beat my expectations. The chicken topping is slightly spicy and punchy, so I kept reaching for another slice, and it had a different charm from the pizzas I'd had before.

Above all, every single slice was loaded with toppings, so I enjoyed it right to the last bite, and once again it felt like a "life-changing pizza." My friend gave a thumbs-up too and said, "Okay, Hapjeong's best-eats reputation is legit."

Is Pizza Never Sleeps in Hapjeong worth a return visit?

There are a few places my husband and I keep coming back to whenever we're in Hapjeong, and Pizza Never Sleeps is one of them. You get delicious pizza in an antique setting, and with so many signature dishes, choosing something new each visit is part of the fun. I've had the Corn Brown many times and it's good every time, and the Chicken Never Sleeps I tried for the first time was good enough that I want to order it again.

Finishing the meal at Pizza Never Sleeps Hapjeong

There's usually a wait on weekends, so going a bit early or using a Naver reservation makes it easier. If you're looking for a pizza place for a date in Hapjeong, or just a good meal there, Pizza Never Sleeps is worth a visit!
