Why I looked for an oat drink on busy mornings
When getting ready for work overlapped with taking care of the children, I often left without breakfast. On days I started on an empty stomach, I found it hard to concentrate in the morning and kept thinking about snacks, so I looked for something convenient to have.

I usually like oat drinks, so Garu Seonsaeng Oat Drink caught my attention. I thought simply adding water and mixing it would suit busy mornings.

I had previously tried to make ona-o (overnight oats) regularly, but the preparation felt cumbersome.

Soaking oats the night before, refrigerating them, and preparing toppings meant I gave up after only a few days. Drinking a lot of dairy can sometimes make me feel bloated, so I began looking into plant-based drinks made with oats.

What stood out about the ingredients and storage?
In the ingredient description, I noticed that it uses Canadian oats.

It says it uses oats, sea salt, and unrefined raw sugar, without emulsifiers, artificial flavorings, or preservatives. After reading this, I thought it seemed less burdensome to have with my children, too.

Being able to store it at room temperature was convenient, too. I had been concerned about needing to finish liquid products quickly after opening them and about refrigerator space, but this powdered product was easy to store.
How I made it without preparing the night before
I poured water into a cup, added the oat drink powder, mixed it well, and drank it. There was no need to soak, blend, or strain oats separately, so preparation was simple.

Unlike preparing ona-o (overnight oats), I liked that I could make it and have it straight away in the morning.

Not having to set anything aside the night before made morning preparation much easier.

How was it different mixed with water and coffee?
I mostly mixed it with water and drank it like an oat beverage. I also tried mixing it with coffee in an oat latte style, and it went together better than I expected.

When I mixed it a little thicker, I could also enjoy it with a texture like oatmeal porridge. Prepared this way, I felt it was enough as a meal replacement.
How did the powdered drink taste, and how filling was it?
At first, I expected a powdered product to taste bland. Once I tried it, though, the nuttiness was rich and the flavor felt quite deep.

The particles felt smooth, and it went down cleanly. I was impressed that its flavor was as rich as a liquid oat drink.

A glass in the morning felt filling, and I thought less about snacks. Fullness may vary from person to person, but I was satisfied with it as a convenient meal replacement for busy days.
