Gangnam café with seats on all floors, fig pound cake: Upper and Under

Upper and Under is a large dessert café on Gangnam-daero 102-gil, between Gangnam Station and Sinnonhyeon Station in Seoul, using the basement, 1st and 2nd floors and a terrace. After walking through the seating on every floor, we took a terrace table and ordered fig pound cake (8,500 won), crème brûlée flan (6,900 won), salted caramel cream latte (8,000 won) and a hot americano (6,500 won). Upper and Under has plenty of seats for a long catch-up, and the crème brûlée flan came with a properly torched caramel top.

It'd been ages since I went to Gangnam Station, and I made sure to enjoy a great café while I was there ( •؎ •)
They had a huge variety of desserts, tons of cake types too, so if you love dessert you'll be so happy here. There are so many seats that it's perfect for chatting away with friends.
Let me introduce Upper and Under, a dessert café hotspot near Gangnam Station.
Seating at Upper and Under, floor by floor from the basement to the terrace
Upper and Under has a basement floor, 1st floor, and 2nd floor, plus a terrace on top — so seriously there are so many seats.
This is the basement floor! It's right next to the stairs. Even though it's called basement 1F, it's actually at ground level. You order on the 1st floor!!
This is the 1st floor! Lots of seats and it feels really pleasant. The walls are all floor-to-ceiling windows so it feels extra cool and airy, and you can see lots of trees out front which puts me in a good mood.
This is the 2nd floor. Personally, I liked the 2nd floor better ദ്ദി( ¯꒳¯ ) It somehow feels calmer?
And here's the terrace~ Sunlight comes in nicely and there are lots of trees. As someone who prefers the countryside over the city and loves nature, I really loved it here. We ended up spending our time on the terrace.
What desserts does Upper and Under have on the menu?
This place really is a dessert hotspot! The variety of desserts is insane. Truly recommended if you love dessert.
Pies, financiers, canelés, madeleines, flans and more — feels like they have everything, don't you think?
And there are pound cakes and slice cakes too. The pound cakes topped with various fruits looked so pretty.
And Upper and Under isn't just about desserts — the drinks are varied too! I heard the signature is the cream latte! With this many drink and dessert options, I truly respect the staff who work here...

How do the fig pound cake and crème brûlée flan taste?
Aaah, since figs are in season these days I picked the fig pound cake, and since I usually love crème brûlée I also ordered the crème brûlée flan ㅎ.ㅎ The figs were arranged so prettily on top that it put me in a great mood ᐠ( ᐢ ᵕ ᐢ )ᐟ
The crème brûlée flan was a genuinely proper crème brûlée. See the caramelized coating cracking? Inside is soft custard cream, and eating it with the soft cake underneath just melts in your mouth — you have to try it, highly recommend.ᐟ.ᐟ Sometimes places call things a crème brûlée dessert when it's nothing like actual crème brûlée, but this one is legit delicious.
The fig pound cake was also so soft and delicious. Figs aren't that sweet a fruit, so they went really well with the sweet pound cake!! So good....
Upper and Under's signature salted caramel cream latte: stir before you sip
Among Upper and Under's signature cream lattes, I picked the salted caramel cream latte. There's Lotus biscuit and Lotus powder on top — an unbeatable combo.
They give you a spoon, so I scooped up some of the cream first like this. Being salted caramel, it has a salty note, so it went really well with the Lotus on top!
After finishing the cream, I mixed it into the coffee! Personally I think mixing it makes it even tastier. The sweet latte and salty cream mix together and the flavor doubles!! It's sweet, sweet, sweet, and then a salty note hits so it never gets tiring.
It'd been a while since I went to Gangnam, and getting to enjoy such delicious desserts and drinks put me in a great mood. The weather's been so nice lately too~ so sitting on the terrace chatting away was genuinely such a happy time ꒰´꒳`∗꒱
