Corkage-free Korean BBQ in Hongdae, 1 PM weekday window seat: Gogikkun
In short
Gogikkun Gimchunbae Hongdae Supgil Branch (고기꾼김춘배 홍대숲길점) is a corkage-free Korean BBQ restaurant in front of Gyeongui Line Forest Park in Mapo, Seoul, where staff grill both hanwoo (Korean beef) and handon (Korean pork) for you. Two people shared the hanwoo/handon set for two (₩109,000), half-and-half naengmyeon (cold noodles) and kkakduk bokkeumbap (cubed fried rice) at a window seat during a quiet weekday 1 PM lunch. Because the staff at Gogikkun Gimchunbae grill to the very end, it was an easy meal for trying beef, pork, and both water and spicy naengmyeon.

Gogikkun Gimchunbae (고기꾼김춘배) Hongdae Supgil Branch is a BBQ restaurant on the Gyeongui Line Forest Path (Gyeongui-seon Supgil) in Hongdae. It has outdoor-style seating too, and eating with the forest path right in front of you felt so good. Besides pork belly they also sell hanwoo (Korean beef) and handon (Korean pork), so you can try lots of different meats, which I recommend! And since corkage is free, it's a great spot to eat meat with whatever drink you want, right?
Outdoor-style seating by the forest path: what's the vibe?

The Gyeongui Line Forest Path is right in front of the restaurant, so the view is so nice. And you can sit outdoors too ⸜(。˃ ᵕ ˂ )⸝

We went on a weekday at 1 PM and there were no other customers, but in the evening and on weekends it seems to fill right up~ A proper popular spot, no doubt. Inside has an old-school vibe that's perfect for eating meat c( 'o')っ

We sat at a window seat, haha! You get the whole forest path in view, like outdoor dining. The weather was lovely, which made it even better.
Menu and what we ordered

The menu has hanwoo, handon, pork belly, pork skin and more, plus a variety of set menus! The two of us ordered the following.
- Hanwoo/handon set for two ₩109,000
- Kkakdugi fried rice (cubed-radish-kimchi fried rice) ₩8,000
- Half-and-half naengmyeon (cold noodles) ₩7,000

What's in the set for two, and the side dishes
The hanwoo/handon set for two comes with 250g of pork neck, 200g of galbi-sal (rib meat) and 150g of today's hanwoo. The sides included pickled onions, scallion salad and myeongi namul (pickled wild greens), which was nice. I love grilling potatoes with my meat, and they even give you potatoes. The best!

Mixed mushrooms and minari (water dropwort) too~ It feels like they prepare everything that tastes good with meat (-ε-〃)b゙
Staff-grilled meat: how did it taste?
Gogikkun is a grill-for-you restaurant, so the staff cook everything for you. They started with the mushrooms, potatoes and hanwoo galbi!

The staff member grills so well... the meat came out full of juice. And there's even meljeot (salted anchovy dipping sauce). Seriously, they have everything.

Personally, I think hanwoo tastes best on its own. When it gets a bit heavy, I eat it with something like myeongi namul, haha.
Half-and-half naengmyeon: water and spicy in one bowl for two

Partway through, the half-and-half naengmyeon (₩7,000) arrived. What's great about it is that with two people, ordering two bowls of naengmyeon is honestly too much food. But you still want both the broth kind (mul naengmyeon) and the spicy mixed kind (bibim naengmyeon)... and this is just perfect for that (´ ε ` )♡
Naengmyeon goes so well with meat~ The noodles were clear and chewy, just a really good naengmyeon.

Had some beer too, haha. Looks tasty, right? Ahh~
Pork neck grilled with kimchi and minari

When we were nearly done with the hanwoo galbi, the staff came back and grilled the pork neck too. Since it's pork, they grill kimchi and minari alongside it, which was such a thoughtful touch ><
I enjoyed the hanwoo galbi for its pure meaty flavor, and the pork neck was so good with kimchi, minari and naengmyeon. I like that you can have everything from beef to pork.
Finishing with kkakdugi fried rice, crisped into nurungji

After finishing the meat, we asked for the kkakdugi fried rice (₩8,000). It comes fully stir-fried, so they said we could eat it right away! (•⤚•)۶
We left it a bit longer to make more nurungji (crispy scorched rice) before eating. You know you have to scrape the pan clean with BBQ fried rice, right? Hahaha. I was so full I felt like I'd die, but the fried rice was so good that I ate every bit I could... Finishing with rice left me feeling really satisfied.
Gogikkun Gimchunbae Hongdae Supgil Branch: overall verdict
Eating meat outdoors-style by the forest path was really delicious. I loved that two people could have beef, pork, and both kinds of naengmyeon. And because they grill for you, the meal was relaxed. Free corkage means you can bring the drink you want too~ If you're craving meat, give it a try!!
