Second-stop Yeonnam-dong café: terrace decaf and mild lemonade at Pip

Today I'm introducing Pip Espresso Bar, a Yeonnam-dong café I visited with my mom.

On Tuesday, June 23, 2026, I went on a Yeonnam-dong date with my mom. After a tasty lunch, we visited not one but two cafés! I'll write up the first one separately later this week.

Where is Pip Espresso Bar in Yeonnam-dong?

Pip Espresso Bar (피프에스프레소바) is about a 10–11 minute walk from Exit 3 of Hongik Univ. Station, right next to Ginkgo Tree Children's Park at the corner by the Yeonnam-dong community center. Today I'll start with my review of the second café we visited. It wasn't hard to find, and it's close to the Gyeongui Line Forest Park, so it's a nice stop during a stroll. It's about a 15-minute walk from Gajwa Station, or a 5-minute walk from the Yeonhui 104 Gojiap bus stop if you take the bus.

Pip Espresso Bar is open daily from 9 am to 11 pm. There's no parking lot of its own, so use a nearby public or shared parking lot.

What are the interior and terrace like at Pip Espresso Bar?

I hear Pip has been running steadily since opening in 2021 and is a well-known Blue Ribbon café in Yeonnam-dong. The ground floor of a detached house has been turned into a stylish space, and both inside and on the terrace you really get that Yeonnam-dong atmosphere.

Inside, it was bigger than I expected, with tables nicely spaced out, so it felt comfortable. There were lots of indoor seats, but at around 3 pm the weather was cooler than I'd thought and the terrace wasn't getting much sun, so we decided to sit outside.

A foreign guest was already relaxing there, and for a moment it felt like we were traveling abroad. We'd had plenty of air conditioning already, so we thought, let's rest outside this time, and Mom really loved the spot.

In front of the terrace we could see Yeonnam-dong's green trees, pretty little shops, and houses and villas, and the calm, uncrowded mood was lovely. After we'd been sitting a while, people passing by saw the terrace and one by one took seats too. I could see why so many people choose it.

At Pip Espresso Bar we ordered an iced americano (decaf) for ₩5,700, a lemonade for ₩8,000 and a tiramisu banana crumble for ₩9,500. Decaf costs ₩700 extra. If I remember right, the staff also let us choose the beans and explained them kindly, which I appreciated.

How does the decaf iced americano taste?

Our order came out after a short wait. The decaf iced americano Mom ordered had a nutty, toasty flavor that she said was easy to drink. The coffee aroma was subtly good too, so I think coffee lovers would be happy with it.

Is the lemonade at Pip Espresso Bar very sour?

The lemonade I ordered wasn't very sour, which I personally liked even more. It was fresh without being overwhelming, so it would be easy to drink even on a hot day. It's a taste anyone can enjoy, with no real hit-or-miss.

What does the tiramisu banana crumble taste like?

And the one I was looking forward to most: the tiramisu banana crumble. Inside was a soft sponge moistened with coffee, and scooping up the crumble and banana together was a really great combination. The banana in particular wasn't mushy or old at all, but fresh, which made me even happier. Soft tiramisu, nutty crumble and sweet banana blended so well that I kept going back for more.

Staff, restroom and lighting at Pip Espresso Bar

The staff at Pip Espresso Bar were all friendly, and the cozy atmosphere made it easy to stay a long time. The restroom is outside the shop, but it's close by so it wasn't inconvenient, and it was kept clean, so I felt at ease using it. One drawback: the interior lighting is on the dim side, so you need to be a little careful. Then again, I thought even that felt like Yeonnam-dong charm, and it made me laugh.

Honestly, at first I thought, "Do we really need to go to two cafés?" But Mom liked this space so much that I was glad we came. Getting away from the air conditioning and chatting leisurely on the cool terrace was the most memorable moment of our Yeonnam-dong date.

Why Pip Espresso Bar is worth a stop in Yeonnam-dong

If you're looking for a café in Yeonnam-dong, I'd recommend Pip Espresso Bar, where you can enjoy a stylish space and a terrace atmosphere together. The coffee, drinks and dessert were all satisfying, and since it's near the Gyeongui Line Forest Park, it also works well as part of a walking route. If you want a Yeonnam-dong café recommendation, I think it's worth a visit at least once.
