This time I visited Dongchuwon Bulgogi, a well-known restaurant in Hagik-dong, Incheon. It's been selected on the Blue Ribbon Survey five years running, and it's famous for its bulgogi. From a great-value lunch special to bibimbap, gukbap (rice soup), and Korean beef bulgogi, they have a wide range of Korean dishes, so it's a great spot for anyone who loves Korean food.

Where to park at Dongchuwon Bulgogi, and how much does it cost?
Dongchuwon Bulgogi customers can use the Seonjeong parking lot across the street. You get 30 minutes free with a meal order, or 90 minutes free with a cooking-menu order. If you parked there, make sure to mention it when paying at the restaurant to get the discount — it's limited to one car per table and gets deducted from your bill.
After that, extra parking fees apply. I parked around 1:50pm on a weekday when I ordered the meal menu, and left around 3:07pm. That's about 1 hour 20 minutes parked, and after the free time, I paid an extra ₩4,000. Note that parking fees may vary depending on timing or the lot's operating policy!

Location-wise, it's fairly close to Singi Market too, and there's a bus stop nearby, so it's convenient to reach by public transport. Dongchuwon has been a Blue Ribbon pick five years running, from 2022 to 2026, so I was curious about the bulgogi.
Dongchuwon Bulgogi interior and seating

Walking in, the first things you notice are the master craftsman plaque and award certificates. It's been known as a bulgogi spot in Hagik-dong, Incheon for 10 years, and seeing the master craftsman selection made me trust it even more.

The interior is clean and cozy overall. There are tables good for eating alone, and since the restaurant is fairly spacious, there's group seating too, making it a good spot for gatherings. There are also private rooms available by reservation, which can hold anywhere from 6 to 28 people. They have kids' chairs too, so it's convenient for dining with children.
There's also a self-serve bar on one side. Basic side dishes are set at the start, and if you run out, you can grab more from the self-serve bar.
Menu and our order for three: ₩60,700 total

There's a wide range from set menus to individual bulgogi dishes. Naengmyeon (cold noodles) is split into a regular and a dessert version, and there are various side dishes and noodle add-ins, so you can order whatever suits your taste. Bulgogi, gukbap, and hot pot all have takeout options, so you can enjoy them at home too.
Here's what we ordered for three people.
- Lunch special bulgogi hot pot ₩12,900 × 3
- Dessert water naengmyeon, spicy naengmyeon ₩5,500 × 3
- Extra bread ₩2,500
- Extra rice ₩1,000
- Udon noodles ₩2,000
- Total ₩60,700
The lunch special bulgogi hot pot can be ordered until 4pm on weekdays. It comes with 2 bowls of rice included. We first ordered 3 bowls of rice, but they told us 2 bowls were already included in the set, so we changed it to just 1!
They're also running a review event — write a review and you get dolsan gat pickles, worth knowing.

The water served is heotgae tea (Japanese raisin tree tea), which has a subtly nutty, delicious taste.
What comes with the lunch special bulgogi hot pot?
The basic side dishes are kimchi, radish salad, and pickled onions — a clean lineup that pairs well with the bulgogi hot pot.
The ongshimi dumplings (rice dumplings) I'd been considering ordering also came included! There were 6 total, so the three of us could split them evenly, 2 each.
At ₩12,900 per serving, I wasn't expecting a huge portion for the lunch special bulgogi hot pot, but it was served generously! You cook it right at the table, so you can enjoy it piping hot.

The dessert bibim naengmyeon and water naengmyeon we ordered came out together at once. Everything came out quickly overall, which I appreciated even more. It was past 2pm and I was starving by then, so having the food arrive fast meant I could dig in right away, haha.

Dessert mul naengmyeon and bibim naengmyeon, ₩5,500
While the bulgogi hot pot cooked, we started with the naengmyeon first!

Being a dessert naengmyeon, it's great value, but the portion was still pretty generous. I'm normally a bibim naengmyeon person no matter what, but it was so hot out that day that I found myself craving the cool water naengmyeon instead.
The tangy broth and chewy noodles were great. Eating the cool water naengmyeon felt like it blew the heat away. I usually can't eat much noodle food, so I typically share a bowl of naengmyeon with someone, but that day I ate an entire bowl solo, it was that good...!

I was curious about the bibim naengmyeon too, so I snuck a bite. The spicy-tangy sauce had real depth of flavor that really grabbed your appetite.

How much bulgogi is in the hot pot, and how does it taste?
They checked in periodically so the hot pot broth wouldn't overflow, and inside I spotted an enormous pile of bulgogi! It's not just loaded with vegetables — there's plenty of bulgogi packed in too.
Since we started with the naengmyeon, the hot pot didn't take long to cook through. They added the ongshimi dumplings once the hot pot started boiling, cooking them together so everything was ready around the same time.
The bulgogi hot pot broth is on the sweeter side, but toward the end you get a subtle, spicy kick that cleanly rounds off the sweetness. The bulgogi is tender, and combined with the mild sweetness from the napa cabbage, the whole thing balances really well. The ongshimi dumplings had a chewy texture with a clean, mild dumpling flavor.
It also pairs really well with the pickled onions and kimchi. The hot pot broth is so tasty that mixing it with rice makes a whole bowl disappear! Living up to its reputation as a long-standing Hagik-dong favorite, the generous portions and great flavor make it a satisfying, budget-friendly lunch.
Making bulgogi burgers with ₩2,500 extra bread

It's not something you'd usually pair with the bulgogi hot pot, but there were instructions on the table for making a bulgogi burger, so I got curious. Luckily there was an extra bread option, so I ordered it. It seems like bread is included by default on weekday evenings or weekends!

The bread comes with mustard sauce and cheese. I split the bread in half, scooped out some bulgogi from the hot pot, and tucked it in between. Adding some gat pickles on top would probably make it feel like a real bulgogi burger.
The bulgogi burger, complete! Familiar flavors done right — the sauce, cheese, and bulgogi combo worked so well together. It was so good I considered ordering another bread, haha! It's a fun, different kind of treat, so I'd recommend trying the bulgogi burger version too!

Finishing the hot pot with ₩2,000 udon noodles
As we were finishing up the hot pot, they added udon noodles in too. This was the first time I'd ever added udon noodles to a hot pot!
I thought udon noodles only worked well in spicy dishes, but they went surprisingly well with the bulgogi hot pot too!? The springy noodles soaked up the sweet hot pot broth beautifully — delicious.

On the way out I noticed they also sell sujuk beef tail soup and braised beef short ribs.
Dessert: milk coffee and ice cream

For dessert, there's milk coffee and ice cream. It's nostalgic ice cream you don't see much anymore..! You can eat the ice cream in the waiting area right next door or outside the restaurant.
Finishing off with colorful, sweet ice cream was a nice touch. One of the people I was with told me adding a scoop of ice cream to the milk coffee tastes great, so I tried it, and it really did taste like an affogato. Surprising and delicious..! We ended up completely stuffed by the time dessert was done.
