Suwon Station bar with brisket stir-fry and jjamppong: Mannyang Sijang

Today's pick is a budget-friendly bar near Suwon Station! Here's my review of Mannyang Sijang (만냥시장) Suwon Station branch.

What are the opening hours at Mannyang Sijang Suwon Station branch?

Mannyang Sijang Suwon Station branch is open Sunday to Thursday from 17:00 to 05:00 AM, and Friday and Saturday from 17:00 to 09:00 AM. The address in the original post is 28-2 Maesan-ro 2-ga, Paldal-gu, Suwon; the business listing gives 25-1 Hyanggyo-ro, Paldal-gu, Suwon, Gyeonggi, South Korea (1st floor).

It closes at 5 AM even on weekdays, so it's perfect when you're looking for a late-night bar near Suwon Station, and on weekends it apparently closes at 9 in the morning!

Is there a time limit?

According to the Mannyang Sijang usage guide, there is a 2 hour 30 minute limit when other guests are waiting! Just so you know~!

Games, chat and fortunes on the Mannyang Sijang tablets

The best thing about Mannyang Sijang is that the tablet on each table lets you play games, chat, and even read your fortune!

When we visited, the owner was chatting with the tables, and reading that was fun too, haha. The owner also opened games every now and then, which was fun to play. You can also open a game yourself and put up a prize!

While we were eating, the owner started a group game, so we joined in, haha. I went with my boyfriend, just the two of us, and it gets pretty boring when he goes to the restroom or steps away, right? Playing games then was really fun!

You just enter your name, date of birth and gender and you can check your fortune this easily. So much fun, haha.

Mannyang Sijang Suwon Station branch menu and prices

The menu at Mannyang Sijang Suwon Station branch is really varied: yukhoe (Korean beef tartare), chicken, grilled dishes, soups, bingsu (shaved ice dessert) and more! They sell Chocoemong (chocolate milk) and Galbae (pear juice) too, and with bingsu on the menu you don't need to run to a convenience store mid-drinking, haha.

And the prices are really kind, too. Dishes around ₩10,000 make it easy to enjoy without worrying about the bill!

There are rice dishes in the meal section too, so it's perfect when you suddenly crave rice while drinking.

Starting with draft beer and Saero Omija

Draft beer is ₩5,500. It was hot out, so I started with a cold draft beer, haha.

My boyfriend had Saero Omija (omija-flavored soju), what the young crowd usually drinks at places like this... lol.

We ordered some hearty dishes too. The prices are so kind that we went all out on the food, lol.

Beef brisket bean sprout stir-fry for ₩10,000: how big is the portion?

The beef brisket bean sprout stir-fry (차돌박이숙주볶음) at Mannyang Sijang is exactly ₩10,000, true to the "Mannyang era" name (만냥 means ten thousand won)! At that price I wondered if the portion would be small, but there was loads of meat and it tasted great, haha.

It's packed with bean sprouts and cabbage too, totally my taste~

Is it a good Suwon Station date bar?

Mannyang Sijang Suwon Station branch isn't the kind of place where drinking with your boyfriend feels awkward, so it's really nice for a relaxed date~~ The food's out, so time to drink too, haha.

The food is tasty, yum yum~~ and the vibe is good too~

Seafood jjamppong soup for ₩15,000: how much seafood is in it?

The seafood jjamppong soup (해물짬뽕탕) at Mannyang Sijang is ₩15,000 and came out in a pot filled to the brim, which honestly surprised me, haha. Why do I always crave red broth like this whenever I drink, lol?

And there was plenty of seafood in it. I expected maybe mussels, but shrimp too?! Total lucky-vicky moment~

There's even blue crab and squid, haha. Maybe because of all the different seafood, the broth is really refreshing. Eat this while drinking and it's instant hangover-soup material! On the first taste it seemed a little bland...? But once it boiled the seasoning was just right and it became insanely delicious. If you're drinking, I'd definitely recommend the seafood jjamppong soup.

Verdict: Mannyang Sijang Suwon Station branch has both value and fun

Located in the main Suwon Station Rodeo district, Mannyang Sijang Suwon Station branch has a big appeal: you can order all the dishes you want at around ₩10,000 each without worrying. Being good value doesn't mean the taste is lacking or the food is skimpy! Tasty and generous, so it was a really happy night out.

The owner keeps things entertaining by chatting, opening games and taking song requests, haha. Mannyang Sijang, a hot spot near Suwon Station~ go have fun with your friends or your partner!
