Hi, this is Cheese. My eyebrows have been growing wild lately and it's been taking longer and longer to draw them in every morning. So I finally worked up the courage to get an eyebrow waxing. Here's the detailed review.
How to find Nu Waxing & Brow at Gangnam Station
Nu Waxing & Brow is a waxing studio on the 7th floor of the Jump Milano building at Gangnam Station. I'd been looking for a good place for Gangnam waxing and ended up here — the floor directory by the elevator clearly listed 'Nu Waxing & Brow, 7F,' so I found it without getting lost.
Step off on the 7th floor and the Room 708 sign is right there. I checked out several Gangnam waxing shops, but this one was the easiest to get to.
In the hallway there's a pink banner with the KakaoTalk ID and phone number printed in big letters — handy to have on hand when booking.
The entrance is a full glass door, and I noticed a Lycon certification mark on it. This place is a Lycon Wax Academy salon, so they apparently train waxing educators and issue diplomas.
There was a banner beside the entrance for Quick Brow — eyebrow waxing plus a quick natural brow for ₩100,000, done in 30 minutes and said to last 3–6 months.
Inside Nu Waxing & Brow: waiting area and private rooms
Once you step inside Nu Waxing & Brow, the pink ceiling and chandelier make for a really pretty vibe. There's even a cloud-shaped light fixture, so I ended up taking several photos while waiting.
I waited comfortably in a chair in the waiting area, scrolling my phone.
Nu Waxing & Brow price list: eyebrows from 25,000 won
If you're curious about Gangnam waxing prices, Nu Waxing & Brow has a big price list posted on the wall. Brazilian is ₩50,000, men's Brazilian ₩80,000, couple Brazilian ₩130,000, and Paddy Planning is ₩80,000 for men and ₩70,000 for women. Speed Skincare is ₩30,000, and they also run a membership program.
Further inside, a row of individual rooms with arched pink doors lines the hallway. It's one room per guest with a private shower, so it feels private, and up to four people can be treated at the same time. They've been operating since 2014 with 18,000 cumulative members, and four veteran waxers with 12 years of experience are on staff, they said.
The eyebrow bar had Lycon pre-waxing oil and ingrown-hair care products neatly arranged. A price list by area was posted too: eyebrows ₩25,000, philtrum ₩10,000, hairline ₩30,000.
How the brow lift perm and eyebrow waxing are done
Before the treatment my eyebrows had a lot of fine stray hairs and the grain went every which way — untidy. When choosing a Gangnam waxing shop, hygiene is the thing I care about most, so I was reassured that they use no double-dipping, disposable items, and a second round of sterilization.
We decided to do the brow lift perm first, so the solution was applied and I waited. Since it's a perm, apparently you do need to wait a bit, so I scrolled my phone while it set, which was nice.
She examined my face shape and the direction of my brow hairs and designed the shape 1:1 for me. She asked what look I wanted first, which made it easy for me to say what I had in mind.
She applied the red Lycon wax in a thin layer above and below my brows — it wasn't hot, just warm.
She did the other side the same way and finished off by carefully cleaning up the fine hairs too. Once everything was removed, the before-and-after difference was huge. With the hairs pulled this way, you don't have to shave with an eyebrow razor every day — it lasts about a month, which is so convenient.
The wax pulled off really cleanly too. It came off well here without any painful feeling, which I liked.
Right after the treatment, including the soothing mask
My cleaned-up eyebrows had a crisper line and the natural grain of the hair really stood out — my whole look changed. With the fine hairs gone, even my eyes looked more defined, and I was surprised looking in the mirror.
They also put on a soothing mask afterward — my skin had gone red, but it calmed down fast. Hardly any other place offers a soothing mask like this; these little extra touches are what I love here. I'd want to come back next time too.
How the brows looked a few days later
This photo was taken back home, and the brow line was still holding its shape — it made me happy every time I looked at it. With the hairs brushed upward, my whole expression looked softer. My eyebrows turned out so pretty that I kept checking the mirror for days.
A few days later I took another straight-on photo, and the left-right symmetry hadn't shifted at all — still looking great. The remaining hair density looked natural, like these were just my original brows. I'm satisfied even going out without any brow makeup because it looks so tidy on its own.
