Why we went to Mini Male Coffee Roaster near Gyodae Station
I met up with friends who work near Gyodae Station on a weekend, and they said there was a café nearby with really good lattes, so we all went to Mini Male Coffee Roaster Gyodae Court Branch (미니말레 커피뢰스터 교대법원점). Turns out it's right next to one friend's office building.. We went in thinking, it's the weekend, we won't run into anyone from work, right? Luckily we didn't, haha.

Is this Gyodae Station café quiet on weekends?
On a weekend afternoon, Mini Male filled up faster than I expected. I went because I figured this neighborhood is usually empty on weekends. Wasn't this supposed to be a quiet area? I'd planned to sip coffee and chat leisurely, but the moment we sat down, the café was almost completely full, haha.
The outdoor terrace is nicely done too, but it was hot, so we went inside where the air conditioning was on.
My first impression inside was a clean black-and-white look. It felt calm, and I liked it.
Mini Male's bakery display and the Original Babka
At Mini Male Gyodae Court Branch I picked the Original Babka (₩5,800), a rich, braided sweet bread. We'd had a big lunch, but I couldn't just walk past the bakery case, haha. I also liked that every piece had a plastic cover, keeping it safe from dust and anything else floating around. Everything looked delicious and I wanted to pick a bit of everything, but after some agonizing I chose the babka because it looked like the biggest one!
I chose the original, and it turned out to be chocolate flavored, which made it even better!

The three of us each ordered a different drink, and all three were good. The friend who comes to Mini Male often orders the Helsinki Latte every time, so she ordered it like a pro. I picked the British Einspänner, which the menu marks as BEST. The other friend first said she'd have the Helsinki Latte, then switched to the Golden Assam Milk Tea right before ordering, hahaha.
We each took a sip of everything~~ The menu has a lot of drinks I'm curious about. I want to try the White Americano, and the Ice Cream Latte sounded good too.
Helsinki Latte (₩5,400): how sweet is it?
Mini Male's Helsinki Latte was a creamy latte with a smooth, rich milk flavor. It's the one my friend always orders. I found it slightly sweet, while she said she likes that it's not very sweet. Same drink, but sweetness seems to land differently for everyone. If you like creamy lattes, give it a try!
British Einspänner (₩5,200): the BEST menu pick with thick cream
The Mini Male British Einspänner I chose has a cream layer that isn't thin, and I loved that. Just seeing the cream sitting on top of the coffee puts me in a good mood. The coffee isn't strongly bitter either, so I could drink it smoothly to the end.
It was also the prettiest of the three cups, haha. Very satisfied!
Golden Assam Milk Tea (₩5,400): tea cold-brewed for 36 hours
Mini Male's Golden Assam Milk Tea is said to be made by cold-brewing high-grade Assam tea leaves for over 36 hours. Maybe that's why the tea flavor was so rich! It's the drink my friend switched to right before ordering instead of the Helsinki Latte, and after one sip she said it was so good and she was glad she'd changed. Watching her be so pleased with her own order was funny, hahaha.
Gift vouchers, a review event, and the noise
Mini Male Gyodae Court Branch also has prepaid gift vouchers, which seem great as a present for people who work around Gyodae Station. There's also a review event that gives out a drip bag! We were so busy talking that we left without doing the event. Next time, haha.
After we finished our excited chatting and walked out, it felt super quiet outside. I hadn't noticed while inside, but the café was packed and must have been quite noisy. I wondered if it's a space where sound echoes a bit.
