Rattan shoulder bag with zip storage: Meda Bag

While looking for a bag I could carry both for travel and everyday use, I came across the Meda Bag rattan bag. The product was provided to me, so I looked over the storage, finishing, and shoulder length of the beige version.

What were my first impressions of the beige color and packaging?

This bag is available through Smart Store. It came in two colors, brown and beige, and I chose beige because I liked its brighter feel.

When it arrived, I could feel the care that had gone into the packaging. I thought it was nicely packaged for the price, though I did not record the exact purchase price.

Once I took the bag out, I immediately thought I would want to carry it often in summer. I have not taken it on a trip yet, but it looked like something I would want to bring on a Southeast Asia trip or a vacation.

How are the weave and interior storage?

The rattan weave felt close and sturdy. Looking it over after it arrived, the construction gave a solid impression.

There is a small storage pocket inside, and the interior was roomier than I expected. Because the bag opening can be closed with a zip, I did not have to worry about the contents showing even when the inside was not perfectly tidy.

The area joining the lining and rattan was stitched securely, too.

The base was also firmly finished, helping the bag hold its shape. Looking inside, I felt it had better storage capacity than I had expected.

Was the length right when carried by hand or on the shoulder?

The side that rests on the shoulder was lined as well. I thought this detail would make it feel soft against clothing, too.

One of the things I pay close attention to when choosing a shoulder bag is strap length. If it is too long, the bag keeps bumping into things, and if it is too short, I end up tensing my shoulder, which is uncomfortable.

When I carried this bag by hand, it did not drag on the ground.

When I wore it on my shoulder, the length suited me well. Along with the roomy storage and zip top, I liked the strap length, so I wanted to use it for both everyday summer life and travel.

What washing instructions are provided?

The care instructions recommend hand-washing in cold or lukewarm water and washing it separately from other laundry. If using a washing machine, a laundry bag is required, and using a dryer is prohibited.
