Apple Smile is a kids' clothing shop selling Korean-made clothes in Unit 12 of the Bourdeng Kids' Clothing (부르뎅아동복) arcade in Namdaemun Market, Jung-gu, Seoul. After a nostalgic stop at Bourdeng Kids' Clothing, the writer browsed Apple Smile's new fall arrivals and bought a soft striped outfit in two colors as a gift for a baby niece aged 1 to 2. With mostly ₩20,000–30,000 prices and plenty of unisex fall clothes, Apple Smile is an easy, affordable pick for kids from babies to juniors.

Anguk pizza dinner with my sister: pre-order on Catch Table, Low Five

Low Five Anguk is a pizza and Western restaurant on Bukchon-ro in Jongno, Seoul, near Exit 2 of Anguk Station. On a weekday around 6pm the writer and her older sister joined the Catch Table wait list at Low Five Anguk and placed their order at the same time, then ate a classic Caesar salad, the corn pizza (₩25,000) and the limited-quantity classic lasagna (₩23,000). Verdict: Low Five Anguk's corn pizza and lasagna are delicious, and the romantic mood makes it a good date spot too.

Korean restaurant in Gwanghwamun: ₩19,900 snail pot rice lunch, Modam

Modam Dining Gwanghwamun (모담다이닝 광화문점) is a Korean restaurant on basement level 1 of Deoksugung The Palace in Jongno, Seoul. On a weekday, I ordered the lunch special with friends: the Modam pot rice set (19,900 won per person). The set came out like a course, from seasonal porridge through boiled pork, shiitake tempura, perilla oil capellini and snail pot rice to plum tea. With private rooms and a neat table setting, Modam Dining Gwanghwamun is also worth recommending for a meeting between both families before a wedding.

Namdaemun peanut bread shop on a sauna-supply run with sisters: Daesin

Daesin Ttangkong-ppang Namdaemun Market branch is a peanut bread shop in Namdaemun Market, Jung-gu, Seoul, near Exit 5 of Hoehyeon Station, known for the peanut bread famous at Daegu's Seomun Market. Giheung Station burger shop whose takeout stays juicy: WeWe Burger

WeWe Burger is a handmade burger shop at Giheung Station in Yongin, in the Hillstate Giheung shopping arcade, making burgers with buns baked in-store every morning and 100% beef patties. Arriving during the 15:00–17:30 break time, the writer took a truffle burger and a double cheeseburger home instead of eating in; the patties stayed juicy over time, and the lunchbox-style packaging was neat. Jeongja burger shop: wasabi shrimp & grilled chicken at Roaster Burger

Caffeine Focus is a fortress-view café in Haenggung-dong, Suwon, that uses three floors of a building facing the Suwon Hwaseong Fortress wall and bakes sourdough every morning. On a walk along the fortress wall, the writer looked around the seating on each floor and the picture-frame fortress views, took home levain squid ink, plain and cheese olive ciabatta plus an egg scone for the family, and received homemade cardamom granola for leaving a receipt review. Spicy yet gentle steamed skate at a Sokcho restaurant: Jungang Sanghoe

Suwon Station café: chamomile tea with dark chocolate cake at Tteum

On a weekday afternoon, the blogger paired Tteum Café's dark chocolate cake (₩9,200), made with Valrhona chocolate, with a Rich Chamomile tea, and the tea's strong sweetness masked the chocolate flavor. Sushi taco spot near Seoulsup for a date: stair photo zones, Morimoly
