Korean BBQ in Moran with my husband: grinder salt, Mat Chandeul
In short
Mat Chandeul Wang Sogeum Gui Moran Branch (맛찬들왕소금구이 모란점) is a pork belly Korean BBQ restaurant in Moran, Seongnam, a 5-minute walk from Moran Station Exit 4, where staff grill the meat for you from start to finish. The blogger, a regular for years, booked ahead with her husband and shared the A Set of aged raw pork belly with doenjang stew (soybean paste stew). The salt ground fresh from a grinder made her salt-picky husband ask what kind it was. Mat Chandeul Moran Branch is still delicious after a long gap and a good pick for a day you just want to sit back and eat meat.

Where is Mat Chandeul Moran Branch and how do you get there?
Mat Chandeul Wang Sogeum Gui Moran Branch (맛찬들왕소금구이 모란점) is on the 1st floor of the Vision Building, 16-7 Dunchon-daero 101beon-gil, Jungwon-gu, Seongnam, Gyeonggi, South Korea, and it's open daily from 12:00 to 23:00. The restaurant says it offers group seating, reservations, Wi-Fi, separate men's and women's restrooms, baby chairs and parking.

Let me introduce Mat Chandeul, a place I've been going to for years! My husband and I had such a good meal at the Moran Branch. It's a 5-minute walk from Moran Station Exit 4, so it's easy by public transport, and if you drive, there's a nearby parking lot too (˶❛⩊❛˵)

Is it a good spot for a company dinner or group gathering near Moran Station?
There are separate rooms, and long tables can be pushed together for groups, so it's perfect for company dinners and get-togethers! There happened to be a group reservation, so one side of the restaurant was wide open and I snapped the interior - it's much roomier and more comfortable inside than it looks from the outside - ̗̀ෆ(˶'ᵕ'˶)ෆ ̖́-

We booked ahead, so a quiet table was already neatly set for us! Once dinnertime hit, the place filled up in no time - I really recommend reserving first ⸜(*'꒳'* )⸝

What side dishes come with the meal?
The side dishes at Mat Chandeul Moran Branch include seaweed soup, ssam vegetables (leafy greens for wrapping), scallion salad, myeongi-namul (pickled wild garlic-chive leaves), pickled chili peppers, white kimchi and more - all things that go well with meat (。•̀ᴗ-)✧ The staff told us a seriously delicious combo, and I'll share it later (՞˶・֊・˶՞)♡

Mat Chandeul menu and set options
The meats are aged raw pork belly, aged raw pork neck, aged galmaegi-sal (pork skirt), aged raw pork jowl and aged raw pork skirt meat! For extras there's gochujang hanwoo yukhoe (seasoned raw Korean beef), hanwoo doenjang stew, Korean pork kimchi stew, doenjang-wrapped rice, Omori kimchi ramen, kimchi-wrapped noodles, naengmyeon (cold noodles), yukhoe bibimbap and gamasot-bap (cauldron rice) -
There's also honeycomb pork skin, grilled cheese and grilled king oyster mushrooms, which I bet go great with the meat! (⋆ˆ ³ ˆ)♥ They have a wide choice of drinks and alcohol too~ ♥
And now the set menus I recommend!! There are sets that include both meat and stew, so you get better value! We ordered the A Set, and it was a generous amount for two! (⋆❛ ہ ❛⋆) ♡

Do the staff grill the meat all the way through?
Yes, and honestly that's the best thing about Mat Chandeul: the staff grill the meat themselves from start to finish! Once the grill reaches the right temperature they put the meat on, and the professional grilling service lets you eat it at its best! The meat itself is delicious, but the staff's grilling skills were really professional - ( ・ิᴗ・ิ)♡

This is the A Set we ordered -!! We chose aged raw pork belly (˶ᐢωᐢ˶)💕 The thick pork belly already looks delicious before it's even grilled, kyaha~

When the grill heats up, they lay down the meat along with potatoes, tteok (rice cakes) and meljeot (salted anchovy dip) - Thick whole pork belly like this is hard to grill, so it's so convenient that the staff cook it all for us! All you have to do is eat ᐠ( ᐛ )ᐟᐠ( ᐖ )ᐟ♡

The salt that my salt-picky husband asked about
At Mat Chandeul Moran Branch they grind two kinds of salt, Himalayan pink salt and Andes lake salt, with a grinder right onto your small plate! ♡⸜(˶˃ ᵕ ˂˶)⸝♡ My husband is super sensitive about salt, and he said it was so good that he asked what kind of salt it was!! Approved by a husband who's especially picky about salt ദ്ദി(˵ •̀ ᴗ - ˵ ) ✧

Does thick aged raw pork belly cook through without burning?
The staff match the grill temperature before putting the meat on, so even though it's thick, it cooked up golden brown without burning! ⸜(*'꒳'* )⸝

Once the meat is partly cooked, they cut it into bite-size pieces and grill it through to the middle - ♡⁺◟(●˙▾˙●)◞⁺♡ Look at the meat cooking nicely inside ദ്ദി ˃ ᴗ ˂ )
The doenjang stew in the A Set
The A Set comes with doenjang stew -!! Kimchi stew is available too, of course~ (•'ٮ'•)৴ My husband said the doenjang stew was great too and ate two bowls of rice,, hehehe

The meat was so thick I thought it would take ages to cook, but it was done faster than I expected ( ‘ω’ و(و“♪

Meat that's fully cooked is placed on a stone plate so it doesn't burn! Even the way they place the meat is on another level,, haha ദ്ദി*ˊᗜˋ*) They stacked the meat up like a solid castle wall~

The staff's tip for the best way to eat pork belly
The staff at Mat Chandeul Moran Branch told us their favorite way to eat it: aged kimchi + meat + pickled chili pepper + meljeot (salted anchovy dip) or wasabi!!!!! ( °̀ᗝ°́)و.*・゚✧
- Aged kimchi
- Aged raw pork belly
- Pickled chili pepper
- Meljeot or wasabi

This combo was so, so good that my husband and I kept marveling and ate only this way the whole time ♡⸜(˶˃ ᵕ ˂˶)⸝♡

Above all, the meat itself is so good that it's delicious however you eat it (*ᵔᢦᵔ*) Even after a long gap, Mat Chandeul Moran Branch was just as good as ever ♡⸜(ˆᗜˆ˵ )⸝♡
