Weekend seats at a quiet basement café in Seongsu: T Coffee

I found a café in Seongsu that still had seats on the weekend

You know how in Seongsu on weekends literally every café is completely full of seats... but this time I found an amazing café that actually had some seats and wasn't too loud, even on a weekend!! It's called "T Coffee."

Weekdays 9:00–20:00 / Weekends 11:00–20:00

T Coffee's location and entrance (5 minutes from Seongsu Station)

T Coffee is about a 5-minute walk from Seongsu Station, tucked in the basement of a really pretty building. The entrance was decorated so cutely too. If you walk from Seongsu Station, you'll actually run into a pizza-by-the-slice shop before T Coffee — but that shop is connected to it, so don't worry and just go on in.

The interior is spacious, and there are outlets too

The interior was pretty big and open, with a variety of seating types, and there were outlets underneath, so a fair number of people were there with laptops working. There was also an inner space that I thought was another part of the café, but it turned out to be the pizza-by-the-slice shop right next door.

The restroom is also shared with the pizza slice shop, so you just walk over and use theirs.

There were stickers by the register too, and they were so cute that everyone seemed to grab one, haha.

There was a good variety of desserts, and it looked like they made each one in-house!! Out front they had model replicas of each dessert that were exactly the same size and shape as the real thing, which was great because you could see what you were ordering before you got it.

I enjoyed my desserts with tea. After ordering, they brought everything to my table one by one! And when it was time to leave, you just leave everything on the table and they take care of clearing it. Even with so many seats, they remembered where each guest was sitting — that was kind of touching, haha.

The oolong tea comes properly brewed in a teapot

For my drink I picked oolong tea — I figured it would just be a teabag, but it actually came properly steeped in a teapot to pour into a cup. It made me so happy to get to drink tea done properly like this, ㅜㅜ

I ordered it hot, and the teapot held its warmth surprisingly well, so even sipping slowly, it stayed warm all the way to the last cup, haha. The oolong wasn't strongly scented either, so I think even people who aren't into tea would find it easy to drink!

How's the biscuit? Crisp outside, moist inside, with a savory roasted-salt kind of flavor

This one is the biscuit — it looked kind of like KFC's biscuit-scone thing, so I had to try it! (I really love KFC biscuits...🫶🏻) Maybe because I got it fresh out of the oven, the inside was completely moist, while the outside was slightly crisp — the moist, chewy inside was so good, ㅜㅠ

It's a little hard to describe this biscuit's particular savory flavor, but it's kind of like... roasted salt? It's delicious and nutty even without adding jam — such a good dessert!! I think I'll definitely get this biscuit again whenever I come back.

Pistachio cream puff

This is the pistachio cream puff, which looks like three big puffs fused together. It's packed full of pistachio cream inside — nutty, sweet, and insanely soft — so I'd highly recommend this to anyone craving a sweet dessert!

I always thought Seongsu was just packed and loud everywhere, cafés and all — so it was a whole discovery to find a place here with dessert this good, drinks done properly, a comfortable atmosphere for light work, and I think I'll be coming back often from now on.
