Magok date-night taco restaurant: Texas BBQ and orange ade, Taqueros

It had been a while since our last date in Magok! We agonized over what to eat, and since we both love Mexican food, we said, "Let's go for tacos today!" and headed to Taqueros, a famous taco spot in Magok 😊😊 I like tacos in general, but finding a really good place is harder than you'd think. This one had great reviews and a pretty atmosphere, so I went in with big expectations, haha.

Taqueros Magok Main Branch: location and hours

Taqueros Magok Main Branch is at 202, 2F Magok GMG Tower, 16 Magok jungang 6-ro, Gangseo-gu, Seoul, South Korea. It is open 11:30-21:30 and closed every Monday.

Taqueros is a few minutes' walk from Exit 3 of Magok Station!! Come out of the station and keep walking along the main road until you see GMG Tower, then go up to the 2nd floor and you're right there :) The building is easy to spot, so first-time visitors shouldn't have any trouble. Parking is available too, so it looks convenient if you're driving!!!

Is Taqueros a good place for a date?

Taqueros Magok Main Branch has a hip interior with red accents, soft lighting and generously spaced tables. The first thing I noticed when I walked in was the stylish decor, haha. Red is used as the accent color throughout, which gives it a hip vibe!! The lighting is soft and the tables are spread out, so it never felt cramped, and it felt a bit like a small taco shop abroad. It's the kind of trendy vibe that's really pretty for photos!

Free nachos and cheese sauce

At Taqueros, a basket of nachos comes out first with cheese sauce while you wait for your order. Honestly, I didn't expect much from free nachos, but they were so good, hahaha. The crunch is great and they go really well with the cheese sauce, so we kept reaching for them until the food arrived. I almost filled up on these alone;;;

What's in the Taqueros signature couple set?

The Taqueros signature couple set comes with Texas BBQ, 2 tacos and 1 ade, and we added one more ade. Here's the lineup, for reference, haha.

If you can't decide what to order, a set menu seems like a good choice, haha. The portion was right for two and we got to try several dishes, so it was a satisfying pick.

How was the Texas BBQ?

The Texas BBQ in the couple set is juicy, tender meat with a sweet sauce that isn't too strong. Juicy, tender BBQ!!! It looked delicious from the first glance. A generous pile of well-cooked meat arrives, and the shine is unreal!! One bite and I knew right away why it's a signature dish, haha. The sauce isn't overpowering, just mildly sweet with plenty of savory depth, so it brings out the flavor of the meat itself~

For the ade, go with orange

Of the ades at Taqueros, I really recommend the orange ade. Just get the orange ade, no question. It's seriously amazing. It isn't just sweet, it's got a fresh tang that cleans your palate after the BBQ and tacos!!!!

Fish taco and chicken taco

For the couple set tacos we picked a fish taco and a chicken taco, haha. My boyfriend said the fish taco was amazingly good. They're so colorful that they were great for photos too!! Piled with fresh vegetables and sauce, they looked appetizing and tasted good :)

Is one couple set enough for two?

We ordered just one Taqueros couple set, but the portion was surprisingly generous and we both left full, especially since we kept eating the nachos too, haha. The staff were friendly and kept checking whether we needed anything, and the food came out fairly quickly, so we could eat comfortably without waiting!

The atmosphere, the food and the service were all satisfying 😻 If you're looking for a date spot in Magok, I'd recommend Taqueros for its good mood and good food. Mexican food fans will especially love it. A great pick for restaurants near Magok Station, a Magok date, or a birthday party too~~~!!!
