Namyang-eup BBQ prices: ₩8,900 pork neck and yukhoe sides, Morakmorak
In short
Morakmorak Jeongyuk Sikdang Namyang Hwaseong City Hall Main Branch (모락모락정육식당) is a large butcher-shop BBQ restaurant in Namyang-eup, Hwaseong, near Rolling Hills. After a big house clean, the writer and her husband went after 8 p.m. and picked 350g of aged pork neck (8,900 won per 100g) and 300g of pork belly (9,900 won per 100g). The 5,000-won-per-adult table setting brought yukhoe (Korean beef tartare), muk-sabal (acorn jelly in chilled broth) and doenjang-jjigae (soybean paste stew), alongside a self-bar for meat tacos and free bone broth ramen for dessert. Verdict: Morakmorak's butcher-counter prices are easy on the wallet and the meat quality makes the table setting fee well worth paying.

What kind of BBQ restaurant is Morakmorak in Namyang-eup?
Morakmorak Jeongyuk Sikdang Namyang Hwaseong City Hall Main Branch (모락모락정육식당) is a huge butcher-shop restaurant in Namyang-eup, near Rolling Hills. We'd just come back from Phu Quoc, the kid was at the in-laws', and after a big autumn/winter deep clean my husband and I went out for some energy-restoring meat, just the two of us! This is my umpteenth visit to my neighborhood BBQ place and it's honestly sooo good!! The value is great, which is why we keep coming back.

- Address: 70 Yeokgoljungang-ro, Namyang-eup, Manse-gu, Hwaseong-si, Gyeonggi-do
- Hours: 11:30–23:00, open every day
- Parking: large lot at the restaurant
It's a great spot near Rolling Hills, even with a baby!! There's a big screen with swimming whales and animals, and kids love it!! It's a giant BBQ place in our neighborhood, so the parking lot is big and it works for company dinners too! They also offer car pickup to Rolling Hills.
We came after 8 p.m. because of the long cleaning day, and it was still packed! It's a large restaurant in Namyang-eup you can use for company dinners or gatherings!
Morakmorak meat prices and table setting fee
Since this is a butcher-shop restaurant, there's a ₩5,000 table setting fee per adult, and it's free up to high school students! You pick the cut and weight you want at the butcher counter and pay there. Let me show you the prices in detail!

There's a wide range of hanwoo (Korean beef) cuts, and they sell lamb chops too. Their signature tomahawk and bone-in prime rib are priced low as well! It really is a butcher-shop restaurant, so the meat prices aren't a burden, and above all the meat quality is top!
Aged pork neck 8,900 won and pork belly 9,900 won per 100g
Hanwoo comes in packs you pick and pay for, while aged pork is cut to order in 100g units right there! Pork neck is ₩8,900 per 100g and pork belly ₩9,900 per 100g, which is super cheap, right?! After an overseas trip plus a deep clean, we were completely drained, so to power back up we ordered 350g of pork neck and 300g of pork belly for just the two of us, hahaha. Gotta fill the belly with meat~~~~

Weekday lunch special, bone broth packs and meal menu
On weekday lunches at this Namyang, Hwaseong BBQ place you can get the mountain-of-kimchi hot pot, and next time I'm definitely trying the lunch special! Reviews say it's really generous and cheap! Since it's a butcher shop, they also sell hanwoo bone broth, 3 packs for ₩10,000!

They also sell mul naengmyeon (cold noodles in broth), bibim naengmyeon (spicy cold noodles) and steamed egg. Besides plain rice there's pot rice too, and the rice is wonderfully sticky and tasty!!

What's on the Morakmorak self-bar?
The self-bar has unlimited side dishes, mushrooms, sweet pumpkin and potatoes, and the taco wraps and dessert ramen are all free. The self-bar is such a bargain!! You grab mushrooms, pumpkin and potatoes to grill, and unusually there's a taco setup, so grilling the meat and eating it as a taco is amazing!! Seriously a treat T_T Even nachos dipped in garlic dipping sauce are delicious. And after the meal, ramen too, all free!! Good meat at a really low price, and then we stuffed ourselves with dessert ramen, hahaha.

What comes with the 5,000-won table setting?
This Namyang-eup BBQ place charges ₩5,000 per person, and the basics are doenjang jjigae (soybean paste stew), yukhoe (Korean beef tartare), mukbap-style acorn jelly soup (muk-sabal), sauces and scallion salad. Once you visit, that ₩5,000 is not a waste! First, the doenjang jjigae comes out, and it's refillable, so we refilled both the rice and the stew once. It's nicely spicy and delicious.
Yukhoe is part of the basic setting too! It's a butcher shop selling hanwoo, so of course the yukhoe quality is good! It's so nutty and delicious.
And a cold acorn jelly soup comes out too! Honestly the jelly itself isn't that tasty, probably a cheaper one, but the broth is great, haha. We drank the broth rather than eating the jelly.
There are lots of sauces, and the scallion salad is really good!! At BBQ places I usually go for the onion sauce over scallion salad, but here I even got a refill of the scallion salad. That special seasoning is amazing.
Then I brought taco fillings from the self-bar and, before the meat even arrived, topped nachos with guacamole and salsa and munched away. Making tacos at a BBQ place feels unfamiliar, but it's totally a treat!

How did the pre-seared pork neck and belly taste?
They don't grill the meat for you, but it comes pre-seared, so it cooks super fast on the grill! You put the meat on, flip it once or twice and it's done, so convenient! And look at that bright red meat quality, it's seriously stunning!!
We ordered pork belly and pork neck, and they taste really different, right?! Pork neck gets dry if you cook it too hard, so just lightly blanch it, lol. The juiciness is insane!!

The pork belly here has really springy fat, and it's great with scallion salad or in a lettuce wrap T_T
We prefer meat with fat attached, so we rarely eat pork neck at other restaurants, but at Morakmorak you have to get the neck too. Full of juice and so springy!! The quality is so good that just salt with a little wasabi on top is the best.

How to make the best Korean BBQ meat tacos
When you come to Morakmorak, definitely make the taco wraps too! Toast a tortilla, add salsa and guacamole, put a piece of meat on, dip in plenty of your favorite sauce, and it's seriously amazing! Haha. The tortilla tastes better when lightly toasted.

Is the dessert bone broth ramen free?
Dessert ramen and bone broth are both free at Morakmorak. The two of us had about a geun (600g) of meat... but I can't skip bone broth ramen for dessert!! Boiling Jin Ramen spicy in bone broth makes it much deeper and better, haha. The ramen is free!!!
It's been a while since I stuffed myself at this Namyang-eup BBQ place. Today it was just the two of us, but the big screen has so much to watch that our daughter loves it when we go with her too!! If you're looking for a place near Rolling Hills to go with a baby, definitely go! The meat is delicious and the service is great!
