Paldalmun, Suwon after-work pasta course: bisque & squid ink at Hado
In short
Hado (하도) is a casual dining restaurant specializing in pasta courses on Hyanggyo-ro in Paldal-gu, Suwon, near Maegyo Station. Walking over straight from an office near Paldalmun Gate, I had the 45,000 won basic course, and the signature salad, bisque and squid ink pastas, chicken breast sous vide steak and Earl Grey ice cream were all satisfying. With good atmosphere, good food and a friendly chef, Hado is an easy pick for dinner after work.

An after-work pasta course in Suwon: Hado
Hado (HADO) is a pasta course restaurant on Hyanggyo-ro in Suwon, and last night I went straight there from work for the basic course. I work near Paldalmun, so it's close to my office, and I'd heard Hado does pasta really well, so I gave it a try.
The atmosphere was lovely and the food was delicious, so I was really happy! It had been a while since I'd had a proper, tasty course meal at a casual dining place, which made it even better. Parking was available, and the chefs were all so kind, so it was a very satisfying dinner.

How do you get to Hado, and where do you park?
Hado is a pasta restaurant about a 10-minute walk from Maegyo Station Exit 6. Right next to the restaurant there's a big, well-kept Gyo-dong public parking lot, and you can park free for 1 hour.
I left my car at the office and walked over.
What kind of restaurant is Hado?
Hado is a casual dining restaurant that brings something special within a comfortable setting, a quiet place that quietly wins you over. With prices that aren't a burden, it's a tasty, special restaurant for blind dates, anniversaries, dates, or whenever you want to mark a small everyday mood and make memories with people you care about.

Hado's interior and seating
Inside, Hado has tables for two and a dodgi (counter bar) where you can watch the chef cook. I took photos of the interior myself, and as a Western-style course restaurant, it was clearly clean and elegant, which I liked.
It's comfortable, and both the two-person tables and the counter seats are set up with a nice mood. Being able to watch the chef cook right in front of you adds the fun of watching to the fun of eating, which made it even better ^_^ I also captured a restaurant tour on video.

How much are Hado's menu and courses?
Hado's courses are the spring course at ₩68,000 and the basic course at ₩45,000. Besides the courses, there are also à la carte dishes.
- Spring course ₩68,000
- Basic course ₩45,000
- Anchovy pasta ₩16,900
- Carbonara, bisque, vongole, pomodoro and squid ink pasta, ₩16,900 each
- Potato soup & baguette ₩3,000
- Grilled napa cabbage salad ₩9,000
- Plus various alcoholic and soft drinks
I ordered the basic course. It comes with a signature salad, a main pasta, a protein dish of chicken breast, and Earl Grey ice cream for dessert!

First course at Hado: the signature salad
The first dish out in Hado's basic course is the signature salad. Maybe because it's the signature, it's clearly different. The look is the best I've ever seen anywhere!
Maybe because it looked so good, it tasted even better too.

Which main pastas can you choose at Hado?
For the main pasta in Hado's basic course, you can choose from five: bisque, carbonara, vongole (clam), pomodoro (tomato) and squid ink pasta. We ordered the bisque pasta and the squid ink pasta.
Bisque pasta
Personally I love shellfish, and the bisque pasta had a delicious sauce and fresh shrimp, so it was a very satisfying pasta.

Squid ink pasta
Hado's squid ink pasta was excellent too. It had fresh squid in it, and the savory depth of the squid ink with the noodles was a work of art! The plating was GOOD too!!

Protein for gym days: chicken breast sous vide steak
The protein dish in Hado's basic course is a chicken breast sous vide steak, and for ₩18,000 extra you can switch to a top blade sous vide steak. I've been working out hard lately, so I happily got my protein in with the chicken breast!
It was tender, and the sauce was a perfect match!!

Dessert to finish: Earl Grey ice cream
Hado's basic course ends with Earl Grey ice cream, special right to the end. There's no one who dislikes ice cream, right?? The luxurious Earl Grey ice cream, the kind you'd expect at a hotel, was just right as dessert!!
They even gave us mouthwash at the end, which I loved ^_^
Would I go back to Hado?
If you're looking for a tasty pasta restaurant, definitely visit Hado in Suwon! The food at Hado is REALLY good!!
