Jeonpo brunch restaurant dinner: salmon citrus salad, Odd Bird Oliver

I was looking for a brunch place with a good vibe in Jeonpo and ended up at Odd Bird Oliver ᰔ It's great for brunch during the day, and in the evening it works for dates, blind dates and even wedding-invitation get-togethers, so I'd recommend it if you want a Jeonpo spot with atmosphere! When I visited, there were actually people there on a blind date..🫢

Odd Bird Oliver is at 33 Dongseong-ro 15beon-gil, Busanjin-gu, Busan, on the first floor. It's open Monday and Wednesday to Sunday, 09:00–21:00, with a break from 16:00 to 16... no wait, 16:00 to 18:00. Last orders are at 15:00 and 20:00, and it's closed every Tuesday.

What is the interior like at Odd Bird Oliver?

The whole place has a warm, wood-toned feel with cute little decorative touches, which fits the Jeonpo mood really well..🤎

Even the water glasses and tableware on the table are cute,

and it's fun just looking around each corner of the space ✨

The kitchen is open, so you can watch the cooking up close, and seeing them make each dish with such care was impressive ✨

Are the lunch and dinner menus different at Odd Bird Oliver?

Yes, the menu changes by time of day. Lunch had a wide range of brunch dishes, from stew, soup, salad, pasta and mains to sandwiches,

while dinner had salads, pasta, mains and sides, but no stew or sandwiches ✔️ Since the menu shifts a bit with the time, it's a good idea to check ahead if there's something you really want! I originally wanted to try a sandwich, but sadly there are none on the dinner menu, so I ordered the Oliver Bread Platter and the Salmon Citrus Salad instead 🧡

The dishes came out beautifully plated, so photos are an absolute must..🤍

How does the salmon citrus salad taste?

Odd Bird Oliver's Salmon Citrus Salad has labneh cheese, made in-house from Greek yogurt, spread on the bottom, topped generously with salmon, orange, onion and arugula.

I was curious since I'd never had salmon with orange, and it actually went together really well 🫢 The fresh orange blends nicely with the salmon, and the Greek yogurt labneh underneath is nutty and smooth, so eating them together was a great combo 🧡 It was a first for me, and I was surprised by how delicious it was. Very satisfying! ✨

What comes on the Oliver Bread Platter?

Next up, the Oliver Bread Platter! 🥨

It comes with jambon (Korean-style ham), ricotta cheese and focaccia, and they told me they make the focaccia themselves 🫢

The focaccia is lightly toasted, so it's crisp outside and soft and chewy inside, which I loved. Topped with creamy, nutty ricotta and salty jambon, this was another combo I'd never tried, and it was delicious 🤍

A staff member also recommended putting the salmon citrus salad we'd ordered on top of the focaccia, so I tried it, and it works like an open sandwich - ! Personally, I'd recommend ordering the bread platter and the salmon citrus salad together 🤍

Is Odd Bird Oliver good for a date or blind date in Jeonpo?

Between the atmosphere and the carefully made food from the open kitchen, I was happy with both the taste and the looks at Odd Bird Oliver!
