A weekend morning: desserts I picked with my daughter at The Sweetree

The Sweetree (더스위트리) is a waffle and dessert café near Ujangsan Station and Balsan Station, and this time I took out a choco waffle, a strawberry choco waffle, a fig cream cheese financier and 100% watermelon juice. I'm back again! The weekend always comes around, and every mom knows the "what are we eating today?" worry... haha. I'd gone out in the morning because my eldest daughter had a hospital appointment, and thought it'd be nice to bring dessert home, so I searched and found this Balsan Station waffle dessert spot, The Sweetree, and decided to write about it 🥰

I showed my eldest the kiosk and asked, "What do you want?" She went "hmm~" for a while, then picked the strawberry choco waffle, so that was that! I wondered about a waffle with loads of toppings, but since I'd be sharing with her, I went with the easy-to-eat choco waffle and a financier haha.

The Sweetree hours, prices and parking

The Sweetree is open Monday to Saturday from 10 a.m. to 1 a.m., and on Sundays from 2 p.m. to 1 a.m. The address is 38 Gangseo-ro 47ga-gil, Gangseo-gu, Seoul (1st floor), and there's room to stop or park next to the shop! When I pulled out, the owner watched for cars coming from behind so I could reverse comfortably, which was so nice!

Can you eat in at The Sweetree?

The Sweetree focuses on takeout and delivery, so the space is small, but there are still 2-person and 4-person tables and chairs haha. You can eat in, so check for a seat!

What are The Sweetree's waffles made with?

According to The Sweetree's own introduction, the handmade waffles are measured and made with French fermented butter and Belgian Tirlemont pearl sugar P4. They say they use fresh dairy cream, Philadelphia cream cheese and Elle & Vire mascarpone, and for coffee, beans roasted from a Colombian base blended with Brazilian and Guatemalan green beans.

Cute exterior, clean interior! The kitchen is open, so you can see how everything is made, which made me think they must take hygiene seriously. I figured it's a dessert café you can trust haha. The packaging is adorably cute too, so these desserts make a perfect gift for someone special! At a future family gathering, I could ask them to pack things prettily and show up with a "ta-da~", and I think everyone would love it 💕

There are always-available desserts and drinks, plus seasonal limited menu items, so checking the menu each season could be fun haha. The Sweetree uses Le Gall products! I didn't know how famous Le Gall cream cheese is, so I searched, and among cheese lovers it's really word-of-mouth famous? Guaranteed tasty cheese!? Next time I have to try a cheese waffle (•̀ᴗ•́)و

There were no other customers waiting, so my daughter and I danced and played while waiting for pickup haha. The owner watched us kindly, which made my daughter even more pumped, I remember lol. My always high-energy girl 🖤 She kept nagging that she wanted to eat now, so the owner must have felt rushed. Sorry, and thank you 😭

The Sweetree parking and access from Ujangsan Station

For parking, you can stop right beside the shop, as close in as possible so you don't block passing cars! It's close to Ujangsan Station too, so you can walk there! After I bought the waffles, the owner came outside; the alley opens onto a busy road so I had to reverse out, and they helped by watching for oncoming cars! Such good manners, the owner is the best 👍🏻

Carrying the waffles to the car, the smell was so nutty that I wanted to dig in too haha 🫢 Crispy! I don't know if you can feel it in the photo, but while getting my daughter's share ready, all I could think was "I want to eat already" haha.

Please enjoy a little mukbang (eating show) from my daughter~💕 She'd already finished half the watermelon juice in the car on the way home lol. When I asked for some, she handed it over but grumbled for me to give it right back,,, sweetie, good things are meant to be shared,,, 😂

How did The Sweetree's waffles and desserts taste?

The Sweetree's waffles are plain-tasting and mellow, with the choco and strawberry choco toppings adding sweetness, so it was a tasty dessert for my daughter and me, who both like sweet things! The 🧇 waffle seems like it would be good plain too, and I'd happily buy it again with other toppings!

🍉 The watermelon juice is 100% watermelon, so there's no artificial taste at all, and it was great for sharing with a kid haha. 🍞 The fig cream cheese financier wasn't too sweet either, with a whole fig inside; the healthy sweetness and nutty cheese blended so well and it was soft, a dessert both kids and adults can enjoy!

Also, The Sweetree is open until 1 a.m., so it's a good option if you want a café late at night~! Impressive that it's open so late 👍🏻 Next time I'll bring back something for my husband too~🖤
