Two cakes compared at Chef Cho, a Shinsegae Gangnam cake shop

Chef Cho Shinsegae Department Store Gangnam is a cake shop in the Sweet Park food hall on basement level 1 of Shinsegae Department Store Gangnam in Seocho, Seoul, connected directly to Express Bus Terminal Station. Two cakes were picked from the showcase and tasted side by side: the Real Mango Rose mini whole cake, bright and sweet-tart, and the Fig Pistachio slice, nutty and mellow. Chef Cho's Real Mango Rose wins on looks and the Fig Pistachio on unusual flavour, so buying both together is the combination to go for.

Seongsu pizzeria with four slices boxed to go: Pizza Slice Seoul

Pizza Slice Seoul is a Tokyo-born slice pizza shop in the basement at 159 Achasan-ro in Seongsu, Seoul. Four slices — cheese, pepperoni, white Hawaiian and bacon potato — were packed for takeout with an extra ₩1,000 for the pizza box, and the cheese slice costs ₩6,200. Each slice at Pizza Slice Seoul is generously sized, so it is a satisfying Seongsu pizza stop on days when you want to taste several flavors at once.
