Every time I go to Seongsu I feel like there's a constant stream of new spots to try. This time I visited Pizza Slice Seoul, a place where you can grab a simple but proper pizza in Seongsu-dong.

Ordering a whole pizza in Seongsu these days can feel like too much, but just one slice can feel a bit lacking too. Pizza Slice Seoul, true to its name, lets you pick different pizzas by the slice, so you can enjoy several flavors according to your taste — I really liked that.

Since it's the original slice pizza brand that started in Tokyo, there's a huge variety. On this visit I picked four flavors in total: cheese slice, pepperoni slice, white Hawaiian slice, and bacon potato. If you're visiting with a group, I'd recommend everyone ordering something different to share.

With various toppings piled on a chewy yet crisp crust, it really seemed like a great place to enjoy pizza according to your taste.

Inside the basement shop: seating and table extras

The store is spacious and comfortable too, so Pizza Slice Seoul seems perfect as a Seongsu date restaurant.

I also liked that each table came stocked with condiments that go so well with pizza, like hot sauce, ketchup, and crushed pepper.

There was even a handwashing area inside the store, which felt like an extra thoughtful touch.

I got mine to go, and the packaging was neat and easy to bring home. There were also detailed instructions on how to reheat Pizza Slice's pizza.

As soon as I opened the box, a savory, mouthwatering smell wafted up. The visuals were amazing too, so my mouth was watering.

Cheese slice, ₩6,200

Wanting to start with the most basic item, I chose the cheese slice for ₩6,200. Pizzas with flashy toppings are great, but when a place's basic cheese pizza is good, my trust in the whole menu tends to shoot up.

The combination of cheese and tomato sauce was simple yet true to the fundamentals, easy to eat without feeling heavy. The crust wasn't overly thick and puffy either — slightly crisp on the outside, chewy on the inside, which I liked. The savoriness of the cheese and the bright tang of the tomato sauce came together well, making this the cleanest-tasting of the four.

Pepperoni slice

When it comes to pizza, you can't skip the classic pepperoni. The salty, rich flavor of the pepperoni meeting the cheese gives exactly the classic American pizza feel we all picture.

With the first bite, the cheese's savoriness came first, then the distinctly salty pepperoni flavor hit hard, with a clear presence. If you find cheese pizza a bit plain, pepperoni is probably more your style. It also seemed like the best match for beer.

Bacon potato slice

And the one that looked the heartiest right off the bat was the bacon potato — genuinely appealing. With potato and bacon on top, it definitely felt more filling than the other slices.

The soft, mild potato paired with the salty bacon, and the sauce drizzled on top tied all the flavors together smoothly — it worked really well. With the potato on it, even one slice was quite filling. Mild yet salty and savory, I'd recommend this to anyone who likes potato pizza.

White Hawaiian slice

One menu item I was personally curious about was the white Hawaiian slice. It felt quite different from a typical Hawaiian pizza, which made it fun.

Between the salty, savory toppings, the sweet, tangy taste of pineapple comes through and really lifts the whole flavor. Hawaiian pizza tends to be polarizing, but rather than the sweetness dominating, this one alternated between salty, savory, and sweet in a sweet-and-salty combo that kept me reaching for more than I expected. If you usually like pineapple pizza, this is worth trying at least once.

Who should visit Pizza Slice Seoul in Seongsu?

What I liked most about Pizza Slice Seoul, a hotspot restaurant in Seongsu-dong, is being able to pick whatever pizza you're craving slice by slice and try several kinds. Ordering a whole pie usually means sticking to one or two flavors, but here you can choose according to your taste — cheese, pepperoni, white Hawaiian, bacon potato — which made for a surprisingly satisfying meal.

I also expected slices to be small, but each one was actually quite sizeable, so it was more filling than I thought. The crust was chewy with crisp edges, and each topping had its own distinct character, so even choosing several kinds never felt repetitive.

Of everything I tried, the classic pepperoni, the sweet-and-salty white Hawaiian, and the hearty bacon potato stood out the most.

This is a good place to visit when you're shopping in Seongsu or on a date at Seoul Forest and craving pizza, or on a day when you'd rather have a few good slices with a beer than a big meal. If you enjoy sampling a bit of everything, this Seongsu pizza spot is well worth a visit.
