In short

Central Site Hapjeong is a specialty roastery café in Hapjeong, Mapo, Seoul, a 2-minute walk from Hapjeong Station, where you can smell every bean on sale before choosing. Hapjeong roastery café

These days I like flavorful hand-drip coffee more than an Americano. While looking for a roastery café in Hapjeong, I visited Central Site Hapjeong, which has a wide range of specialty beans! As a proper Hapjeong roastery café, it has lots of beans and lets you smell them, so it's a happy place for coffee lovers haha

Where is Central Site Hapjeong, and what are the opening hours?

Central Site Hapjeong is at 20 Yanghwa-ro 7-gil, Mapo-gu, Seoul, on the first floor, and it's open 08:00–22:00 (last order 21:30). There's no parking, so I'd go by public transport.

It's a 2-minute walk from Hapjeong Station. Maybe because it's a roastery, a faint coffee aroma drifted out even on the street. Central Site has a Yeonnam branch and a Hapjeong branch, and I heard the Hapjeong one opened recently! It looks prettier after sunset than in daylight, so I took one more photo.

Seating and atmosphere at Central Site Hapjeong

The inside isn't very big, but it has tables, bar seats and even outdoor seats. It doesn't feel awkward to come alone, and it seems great for a quick coffee.

While I was drinking after ordering, they started roasting beans. It was fascinating to watch, and I thought, I want to try that too... haha

Can you smell the coffee beans at Central Site Hapjeong?

Yes, you can smell every bean they sell! There's such a variety of specialty coffee that I agonized over the menu for a long time.

Back when I knew nothing about coffee, I thought the pricey stuff was overpriced, but once you taste the difference, you end up drinking it haha I loved being able to smell the beans and choose. A happy dilemma, hahaha

What I ordered at Central Site Hapjeong

Two hand-drip coffees and tiramisu I ordered
  • Colombia Las Flores Duo: Cherry Velvet Java Hydro Honey, Ice Only (pineapple, muscat, yellow peach, mixed fruit, lychee syrup, white flowers)
  • Ethiopia Nordic Approach: Yirgacheffe Chelbesa Washed (jasmine, white peach, orange, green grape)
  • Tiramisu

After I ordered and sat down, a staff member brought the items to my seat.

Colombia Las Flores Duo iced hand drip

What does the Colombia Las Flores Duo iced drip taste like?

The Colombia Las Flores Duo is an iced-only hand drip where lychee is the strongest note at first sniff, joined by well-balanced acidity and a subtle floral scent. It smelled good when I sniffed the beans, but the aroma and flavor felt even richer when I drank it, which made me happy.

It was a really gorgeous hand-drip coffee. After one sip I thought, oh, this is really good! It was so tasty among the coffees I've had at Hapjeong roastery cafés that I think I'll remember the name, long as it is.

Ethiopia Nordic Approach hand-drip coffee

What does the Ethiopia Nordic Approach hand drip taste like?

The Ethiopia Nordic Approach was good too. A jasmine-like tea scent rises faintly. But maybe because I'd just had the Colombia Las Flores, it felt like an easy, tea-like coffee. A pleasant, easygoing hand drip.

How is the tiramisu at Central Site Hapjeong?

The tiramisu at Central Site Hapjeong has a moist, soaked sponge on the bottom and lots of cream! I recommend it if you like tiramisu with more cream than sponge ☺️ It wasn't very sweet, so it was perfect with specialty coffee.

Who should visit Central Site Hapjeong?

  • Anyone looking for a Hapjeong roastery café
  • Anyone looking for Hapjeong specialty coffee and great hand drip
  • Anyone who needs a café near Hapjeong Station
  • Coffee lovers

You can smell the beans and there's a wide variety of specialty coffees, so I recommend it if you love coffee. I especially fell for the Colombia Las Flores Duo at this Hapjeong roastery café!
