In short
Saechamjip Gunja branch (새참집 군자직영점) is a Korean pub-restaurant on Neungdong-ro 36-gil near Gunja Station in Gwangjin, Seoul. In Saechamjip's spacious, partitioned dining room the writer ordered Jirisan hanu daedoritang (spicy chicken stew with Korean beef intestines) and an old-style brisket kimchi lunchbox, and free rice, udon noodles and ramyeon noodles kept the bill light. Saechamjip Gunja suits company dinners and friend gatherings that want food and drinks in one place.

If you're looking for a spot for a company dinner or get-together in Gunja where you can have both a meal and drinks, let me introduce Saechamjip (새참집) in Gunja! It handles dinner and drinking in one go, and it's good value too 😊 The steamed rice, udon noodles and ramyeon noodles are all free, so it's an easy choice for college students and office workers alike!
Where is Saechamjip Gunja Flagship Store?

Saechamjip's Gunja flagship store is near Gunja Station, at 16 Neungdong-ro 36-gil, 2nd floor, Gwangjin-gu, Seoul. It's close to the station, so it was easy to drop by after work, and it looked fine for friend gatherings and company dinners too. If you're hunting for a pub in Gunja, it's worth keeping an eye on.
A spacious, partitioned interior for groups near Gunja Station

The moment I walked in, I could tell the place was bigger than I expected! The tables are nicely spaced, and the space is divided by partitions, so it feels a bit private.

They aren't fully private rooms, but the sections feel room-like, so it was easy to talk. I think it's a solid option for anyone looking for a group pub near Gunja Station!!

The mood is more relaxed than a rowdy pocha (Korean-style tent bar), a place where you can enjoy a meal and drinks in comfort.
How is the Saechamjip menu laid out?

Saechamjip has plenty of dishes that work as both a meal and drinking snacks, such as kimchi stew, aged white kimchi stone-plate pork bones, flame-grilled jjudaesam (grilled pork and baby octopus), and Jirisan hanu daedoritang. There are also lighter snacks like rolled omelet and dessert items, so it looked workable for a first round and a second round alike. I'd say the lineup should satisfy anyone near Gunja Station looking for a Korean pub or a room-style bar.
Complimentary mukbap, a hangover drink, and free noodle refills

Saechamjip's Gunja flagship store serves mukbap (chilled acorn jelly soup) as a starter, and it was a quiet highlight. On a hot day like these, a cool bite woke up my appetite, and it's a perfect warm-up before drinking 😆

And they thoughtfully hand out a hangover drink too!

And the part that surprised me most at Saechamjip: steamed rice, udon noodles and ramyeon noodles are all free.

Considering prices these days, this was a very welcome perk. I think students and bigger groups especially will be happy with it!
How were the taste and portion of the Jirisan hanu daedoritang?

For the main, I ordered the Jirisan hanu daedoritang (spicy chicken stew with beef intestines) at Saechamjip's Gunja flagship store. It looked generous from the start, and it really was packed with ingredients.

There was plenty of chicken and daechang (beef intestines), and the broth was rich.

The seasoning is spicy yet sweet, the kind of flavor that makes you think of soju right away! I figured a pub dish would be small, but the portion was bigger than I expected, which surprised me.

I was especially happy with how much daechang there was. It had a rich, nutty flavor and a chewy texture I loved. The chicken wasn't dry either, it was tender, so I kept reaching for more.
Side dish: old-style brisket kimchi lunchbox

The old-style brisket kimchi lunchbox (옛날차돌김치도시락) I ordered as a side was great too! Honestly, I'd have regretted skipping it.

Rich brisket with kimchi is such a familiar, tasty combination that anyone can eat it without hesitation.

If you like Korean food, this is a dish nobody will have strong feelings against. Eaten with the daedoritang, the lunchbox also tones down the spicy broth, so the pairing worked well.
Finishing the daedoritang with free ramyeon noodles

Late in the meal, I added the free ramyeon noodles from Saechamjip to the daedoritang. Ramyeon noodles soaked in that seasoning are always a safe bet!

They soaked up the broth's flavor, so it stayed tasty to the very end. Even when I was full they kept going down, and I ended up cleaning the pot ><
Is Saechamjip near Gunja Station a good company dinner spot?

Saechamjip's Gunja flagship store felt like a Korean pub where you can handle dinner and drinks in one stop. The big space and partitioned layout made gatherings comfortable, and the wide menu suits larger groups.

The free rice, udon noodles and ramyeon noodles in particular were a big plus, and the generous daedoritang left an impression too. If you're after a place for a company dinner, a friends' get-together, or dinner with a drink, it's worth a visit, and I recommend it.
