Gamdong Dining (감동다이닝) is a Japanese-style bar and restaurant in Gildong, near Gupeunadari Station. It is closed every Monday, and parking is available.

Today I visited Gamdong Dining, a great Japanese dining spot near Gupeunadari Station, haha. The vibe is amazing, with so much charm starting from the exterior!

At the entrance, today's dinner menu is written on a panel, and a faux cherry blossom tree suits it so well, haha. You can see the menu from outside, which I really liked too!

What is the seating like at Gamdong Dining?

Inside Gamdong Dining, tables for two and four are neatly packed in. This is what the interior looks like, haha. The seats are laid out efficiently, with a nice variety of two-person and four-person tables!!

There's an open kitchen too, so when the chefs cook, a delicious smell drifts over, haha.

Is Gupeunadari a good area for drinking solo?

Gamdong Dining also has dodge-style counter seats, so drinking solo is totally doable~!!!

The drink menu is really varied, so it's fun to pick from!!! haha. There are coat hangers, and the tables for two come with a small side shelf and a storage box for your belongings, which makes things even more comfortable, haha.

The tableware is already set, and aren't the dishes pretty? haha. It's exactly my style of dishware (suddenly revealing my taste).

What did we order at Gamdong Dining?

Here are the four things I ordered at Gamdong Dining that day.

• Gamdong ceviche (seafood salad) ₩17,000
• Hanwoo yukhoe futomaki (beef tartare thick sushi roll), one roll ₩26,000
• Grilled shrimp eggplant ₩12,000
• Draft beer ₩8,500

Starter salad with lotus root chips and Japanese draft beer

This is Gamdong Dining's starter! There are lotus root chips on top of the salad, and the chips are really salty-good, and the salad sauce is delicious! The dressing is a red cabbage dressing, apparently, haha.

You can't skip Japanese draft beer with Japanese food, so I ordered one, haha.

What does the Gamdong ceviche (₩17,000) taste like?

The Gamdong ceviche is a seafood salad of sea snail, salmon, white fish sashimi and squid tossed with arugula, tomato and more. With so many ingredients, it's fun to pick through them!! The sauce is tangy with a hint of basil, which makes it a great appetizer, haha.

How big is the hanwoo yukhoe futomaki (₩26,000)?

The hanwoo yukhoe futomaki at Gamdong Dining is overwhelming in size, lol. It's so huge that it's hard to eat in one bite, ugh. Inside are fried shrimp, beef tartare, cucumber, burdock root, egg strips, pickled radish (?) and more, packed in generously, and the kick of this roll is the crunchy texture of the cucumber, burdock and radish!!!! The fried shrimp is super crispy too, seriously so delicious, ugh.

Dip it in the wasabi mayo that comes with it so it feels less heavy, haha. But the wasabi flavor really hits, so I recommend dipping just a little at a time!!!

Is the grilled shrimp eggplant (₩12,000) good with beer?

The grilled shrimp eggplant at Gamdong Dining felt like a little work of art, so I enjoyed it with my eyes too, haha.

Shrimp and mini vegetables grilled on top of eggplant went really well with beer, haha.
