Suwon Station room bar with whelk somyeon and blankets: Manseokjip

I had errands near Suwon Station after a long while, and that afternoon I ended up meeting my junior from college! I wanted to talk with her in private, so we stopped by the pub Manseokjip Suwon Station Branch (만석집 수원역점).

Where is Manseokjip Suwon Station Branch?

Manseokjip Suwon Station Branch is on the 2nd and 3rd floors of a building on Maesan-ro, near Suwon Station. When you get to the building, you'll see a staircase with "Manseokjip" written on it.

At first I wondered, "Is this the right place?" But after climbing the stairs, a cozy Manseokjip appeared!

Is this Suwon Station room bar good for talking?

Manseokjip Suwon Station Branch runs as a room-style bar, so it was really good for conversation. It isn't an ordinary pub, so I could talk comfortably with my junior.

We shared our worries about careers and what we've been up to lately, and spent the time at ease without worrying about anyone around us. I think it would also suit a blind date, a get-together with friends, or a work dinner for people who want a quiet conversation.

I burst out laughing at the "gwa-ting" (a blind-date-style mixer between university departments) notice on the bulletin board, hahaha. There are also big rooms available depending on group size, so it's perfect for students having a gwa-ting. Ahh, that sounds so fun... this old granny wants to go back to her college days and try one too...☆

Tablet instructions and the receipt review event

When you sit down and turn on the tablet at Manseokjip Suwon Station Branch, the usage rules are shown first. The same content is written on the wall, so even first-time visitors can use it without trouble.

There's also a receipt review event going on! It's worth joining easily after your meal, haha.

Can you ask for a blanket if the room is cold?

If you ask the counter at Manseokjip Suwon Station Branch, they'll give you a blanket. The room was a little cold, so I asked at the counter and they handed me a cute blanket. It's a small thing, but this kind of thoughtful service made the visit more memorable.

Career, work and dating talk over Terra

Having a glass of Terra with my junior after so long, we chatted to our hearts' content about careers, work and even dating. In a noisy pub this kind of talk would have been hard, but the private atmosphere unique to a Suwon Station room bar made it even more relaxing.

Good snacks and good conversation with a good person really is the best, haha.

How is the golbaengi somyeon at Manseokjip?

The golbaengi somyeon (₩17,900) at Manseokjip Suwon Station Branch was nicely tangy with plenty of savory depth, and it came with a really generous amount of vegetables. Golbaengi somyeon is one of my all-time favorite bar snacks TT And above all, the amount of noodles was huge...!!

Plastic gloves came with it so we could toss it together ourselves, and it was so insanely good...♡♡♡ The chewy whelk, crunchy vegetables and springy noodles together were just great. Personally, if you visit Manseokjip Suwon Station Branch, I really hope you'll order this one!

Signature Shuban & Chiban: which half was better?

I ordered the Shuban & Chiban (₩17,900) with high hopes since it's Manseokjip's signature. Personally the Supreme flavor suited my taste better than the Chiban, so I ate more of the Supreme side, haha.

The Chiban had a fairly strong chili sauce flavor! If you usually like chili flavors, I think you'll be really satisfied. Getting two flavors in one dish is another charm point♡

Outlets and restroom locations

Manseokjip Suwon Station Branch has an outlet at every seat, so you can charge your phone if you bring a charger. Between taking photos and chatting, the battery drains fast, so I liked that they thought of this detail.

The women's restroom is on the 2nd floor and the men's restroom is on the 3rd floor, so please keep that in mind!

Verdict: a Suwon Station room bar for quiet conversation

If you're looking for a Suwon Station bar where you can talk quietly, I'd recommend Manseokjip Suwon Station Branch. For anyone who needs a private space especially, it was a Suwon Station room bar they should be happy with.

I could relax with tasty snacks, and it would work just as well for a blind date, a gwa-ting, a get-together with friends or a small work dinner. After an honest talk with a good person over good food after so long, I went home feeling reassured, what a day☺️
