On a sweltering summer day yesterday, my husband and I finally went on a date to Anguk Station after a long while. The Damien Hirst exhibition was almost over, so we wanted to catch it, and there was a great-looking restaurant nearby. And guess what, I found a place I really want to recommend! The pizza and pasta were great, the vibe was lovely, and (whispering) the cute guy working part-time was a treat for the eyes too. Here's my visit to Low Five Anguk, starting now!

Where is Low Five Anguk and how do you get there?
Low Five Anguk is on the first floor of 20-3 Bukchon-ro, Jongno-gu, Seoul, a 3–4 minute walk from Anguk Station Exit 2, so it's really easy to reach! It's open 11:30–21:00, with a break from 15:00 to 17:00, and there's no parking.

The red brick exterior, a curious mix of Bukchon hanok village charm and a hip Western restaurant, stood out from far away. The clean, stylish building already feels like a photo spot before you even step inside.

How does the waitlist at Low Five Anguk work?
You join the waitlist on the Catch Table registration machine at the entrance, and waitlist tickets are handed out at 11:05 a.m. and 4:35 p.m. It's clearly a popular Anguk Station spot: even at 1 p.m. on a weekday, the place was packed.
A notice and the menu are posted big on the wall, so you can pick your dishes while you wait. If you're going for the opening rush, check the ticket times! haha
- It's popular, so it may close early if ingredients run out
- Parking nearby is very limited, so public transport is strongly recommended
- If you don't enter within 10 minutes of being called, your spot is cancelled, so keep an eye on the KakaoTalk alert
- You can find details on Low Five's Instagram
Inside Low Five Anguk: good for a blind date or date night?
The inside is a hip yet cozy, very Instagram-style interior. The lighting is soft, and I thought a blind date or date here would be a guaranteed success haha

And the first thing I noticed when we walked in... was none other than a really handsome part-timer! hahaha He guided us so kindly that my mood got even better before we'd even eaten. That's a secret though 🤫

The interior is quite spacious and the tables are well spaced, so it was easy to talk. There are tables for 2, 4 and 6, which suits different group sizes. The space itself is stylish, and it felt like we finally set the mood properly for the first time in a while!
How to order at Low Five Anguk
The menu comes up when you scan the QR code on the table. Lots of places do it this way now, right? You look at the menu on your phone and order all at once!

While waiting for the food, my husband and I chatted and took photos together, and it gave us early-dating vibes haha

Also, napkins, wet wipes, Parmesan cheese, hot sauce and the like are self-serve from the long shelf in the middle, so you can take as much as you want.
Low Five Anguk's Caesar salad and Alfredo cream pasta
First to arrive at Low Five Anguk was the Caesar salad! Fresh, crunchy romaine topped generously with a savory ranch dressing, salty bacon and Reggiano cheese. It's a refreshing way to start before the mains haha

Next was the Alfredo cream pasta, the ultimate in thick and creamy! The sauce soaks right into the noodles, so one bite and your mouth is full of rich flavor!!!! The whole strip of bacon on top was perfectly done, just plain delicious,, It was so good that my husband and I scraped up every last bit of sauce and cleaned the plate! 🐷 (Delicious food has zero calories, right...?)

Half-and-half pizza: what do Max Taco and Hot Chili Potato taste like?
Last was the one I was most looking forward to, the half-and-half pizza (Max Taco & Hot Chili Potato)! It was overwhelming just to look at, and I loved getting two flavors on one pizza.

The Max Taco side tasted exotic and addictive, as if a real taco had been moved onto a pizza. The sauce itself is spicy, so people who can't handle heat might find it hot haha I did, lol. But that actually kept it from feeling heavy, which I liked.
The Hot Chili Potato has crispy fries on a sweet-and-spicy sauce, a textbook sweet, salty and spicy combo. The dough was chewy too, and I was savoring it right down to the last bite.
Verdict: a great exhibition date spot near Anguk Station
If you're looking for a pizza and pasta place near Anguk Station that nails the hip atmosphere, the looks, the taste and the portions, I totally recommend Low Five Anguk! The route is perfect for a stop after an exhibition date, and the warm service will make the meal even nicer. I'm planning to go back with my husband to try other pizzas!
Walking from Low Five Anguk to the National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art

With our tummies full and happy, we headed to MMCA (the National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art) for the Damien Hirst exhibition, to walk off the meal. It's about a 10-minute walk from Low Five Anguk, so it's perfect to stroll over with a coffee, right?!

We took in the exhibition everyone's been talking about and had such a fun date day haha. It's a hot summer, but a cozy date outside with my husband was so nice. I hope you follow my recommended route and enjoy lots of tasty, pretty things too.
