In short
Choe Uyeong Sushiya Jongno Branch is a sushi restaurant on the B1 floor of the Tower 8 building in Jongno, Seoul, between Jonggak Station and Gwanghwamun Station. The order was the 17-piece premium sushi set, individual nigiri such as cuttlefish, sea urchin and torched beef brisket, a fried tofu udon (yubu udon) and a yuzu soda. Inside Choe Uyeong Sushiya Jongno Branch, comfortable even for solo diners
The inside of Choe Uyeong Sushiya Jongno Branch was clean and pleasant overall, with seating laid out comfortably, from tables for 2–4 people to spots where solo diners can eat without any pressure! I was impressed by how thoughtfully the space is arranged, so even if you come alone you can enjoy sushi at your leisure without feeling self-conscious~

What we ordered at the kiosk
You order at the kiosk at each seat! We wanted to eat loads of tasty sushi, so we ordered the items below.
- Premium sushi set (geuksang chobap)
- Cuttlefish nigiri
- Sea urchin roe nigiri
- Salmon nigiri
- Torched brisket nigiri (chadol bulchobap)
- Tuna belly nigiri
- Cooked shrimp nigiri
- Monkfish liver and cuttlefish nigiri
- Fried tofu udon (yubu udon)
- Coke Zero
- Yuzu soda

The broth and yuzu soda that came out first
After we ordered, they brought the drinks and a hot broth first, and why was the broth so good..! One spoonful warmed me right up and I basically drank the whole thing :) And the yuzu soda...! The moment I tried it I could taste Japan, I honestly wondered if I was in Japan, haha. The freshness of the yuzu went perfectly with sushi~

How big is the udon at Choe Uyeong Sushiya?
The fried tofu udon at Choe Uyeong Sushiya Jongno Branch was so generous that even two adults sharing it would be full. Along with big pieces of fried tofu, it had crab sticks inside, which added a subtle savory depth to the broth~
Then the rest of our order showed up one by one~! The one that impressed me most was the udon. It came out much bigger than I expected, so I was surprised just by the look of it...! It would be quite a lot for one person, but both the portion and the taste satisfied me, and personally it was so good I still remember it afterward :)

Heh, what a lovely spread, now it's time to enjoy it even more...★

What's in the 17-piece premium sushi set?
The 17-piece premium set at Choe Uyeong Sushiya Jongno Branch came with a variety, from egg roll sushi to tuna belly, tuna, monkfish liver with cuttlefish, eel, crab and fluke fin. I was torn over the assorted sets and picked the premium one, and the fun of choosing which piece to eat next was a real bonus.
The individual nigiri we ordered were each really.. premium quality...!

And above all, each piece of sushi is seriously big...! I couldn't help thinking, wow, so this is premium sushi~ The premium set especially has a different topping on every piece, so eating one and then another gave a different taste and texture each time, which made it even better~

The udon... please, please order it~ The noodles were so chewy and delicious that I kept reaching for more :)

Tangy chojang on the side, and my overall verdict
At Choe Uyeong Sushiya Jongno Branch you can also ask for chojang (sweet-and-sour chili vinegar sauce) separately. We wanted a tangy bite, so we asked for it and dipped our sushi. Every piece of fish was fresh, and we enjoyed both the premium set and the individual nigiri. If you're looking for good sushi near Jonggak Station, I recommend Choe Uyeong Sushiya Jongno Branch~ Satisfying from value to freshness!
