Rainy weekday lunch: cutlassfish & bakdae in Suwon at Godeungeo
Godeungeo Myeongpumi Doeda Suwon Branch is a wood-fired fish grill restaurant on Seobu-ro in Gwonseon-gu, Suwon, Gyeonggi. On a rainy Tuesday lunch, grilled cutlassfish and grilled bakdae (large-mouth sole) arrived alongside a pork bulgogi appetizer, an all-you-can-eat side dish bar, and rice-scorch tea and sikhye. The mujorim (braised radish) and oi sobagi (stuffed cucumber kimchi) were good enough to go back for three refills.
