In short
Orange Bagel is a large New York-style bagel café in Omokcheon-dong (Gosaek-dong), Gwonseon-gu, Suwon. A local regular took her kids to Orange Bagel to compare the Deep Choco Bagel (6,300 won) with the trendy choco baguette, along with the Corn Bagel (6,800 won), the Bacon Egg Mayo Bagel (8,500 won) and a chocolate latte. Why did I go back to Orange Bagel for the Deep Choco Bagel?
I went back to Orange Bagel in Omokcheon-dong, Suwon, to try the Deep Choco Bagel, which is said to be every bit as good as the choco baguette everyone's talking about. The interior feels so exotic that you might think you're in a café in New York. It's a big Suwon café.
Hunting for a brunch café has become my routine!!! When the weekend comes, I look for a place to enjoy a relaxed brunch with good bread. Orange Bagel is already buzzing on social media as a bagel holy land, and since it's in my neighborhood, I've been here several times since it opened.
A place I keep going back to! And back again! That's this place... hahaha. Choco baguettes are trending these days, right? I heard the Deep Choco Bagel lives up to that reputation, and I got curious. So I ended up going again and again and again.
Where is Orange Bagel, and what about parking?
Orange Bagel is on the 1st floor at 129 Omokcheon-ro, Gwonseon-gu, Suwon, Gyeonggi, and it's open daily 07:30–21:00 (last order 20:30). There's a very large private parking lot in front, so you can visit without worrying about parking. Groups are welcome, and there are high chairs and oven reheating too.
The classic red brick exterior sets the mood. From the stylish slogan aimed at New York tastes to the dog illustration, it's full of hip, exotic vibes.

Every bread nerd knows French wheat has great flavor. There was a time when I ran my bread machine alternating T65 and T55 flours... Strangely, baguettes and meal breads made with French wheat come out with a totally different flavor. Apparently the ash content differs... well, never mind that. Orange Bagel proudly states that it's made with good flour!!

The soup models and takeout container models are adorable. The real ones come out looking just like the models.

What are the interior and seating like at Orange Bagel?
The 1st floor has some props, a few tables and a long, showy bagel counter, while the 2nd floor has far more seats. The moment you step in, vintage yet trendy props are dotted all around, so just looking around is fun. You can tell at a glance that they ooze New York vibes, right? I couldn't walk past without taking a photo.

The 1st floor has props, a few tables, and a long, showy bagel counter.
2nd floor
Head up to the 2nd floor and right at the top... a CCTV...? Haha, a witty retro CCTV welcomes you, haha. The 2nd floor has far more seats. I hear there's a 3rd floor too, but they say the call bell doesn't ring there, so I've never been... haha.

The 2nd floor is full of cute props too! Orange Bagel is spacious with all kinds of table styles, so it's a pleasant place for couples on a date, and also comfortable for families or groups of friends to linger. Baby chairs are thoughtfully provided too, so I thought it was perfect for a family meal out with small children.
What are the bagel menu and prices at Orange Bagel?
Bagel prices at Orange Bagel range from the ₩4,000s to over ₩10,000. I captured the prices in the photo, so take a look! There's such a wide variety that choosing is half the fun.

Looking at the neatly arranged bagels in the showcase... my mouth just waters T_T The one I was most curious about, the Deep Choco! Even the color of the surface is deep~~~
I also wanted the salmon bagel, the bacon egg bagel, the basil bagel, this one... that one..... ugh, decision paralysis is setting in!! As a big Suwon bakery café, the variety is huge~~ At first I thought everything on the plates was a model. They're that pretty 😍
From the basic plain bagel to scallion bacon cream, salmon sandwich, Deep Choco, and Orange Bagel's popular jambon-beurre (ham and butter sandwich), the lineup is dazzling, so picking is definitely fun. (The jambon-beurre was sold out, so it's not in the photos T_T) I ordered a few bagels along with drinks.

Is the choco latte at Orange Bagel okay for kids?
At Orange Bagel you can buy both freshly made drinks and ready-made bottled drinks from the shelf. Because of my kids I ordered two choco lattes, and they were really rich and delicious.

Two choco lattes because of the kids! I wanted the orange coffee, but... my second kid would definitely leave some... so... I have no choice... just choco latte... haha. But it was really rich and delicious.

See how the chocolate is smeared all over the cup? Mix it all up... and it gets this rich. Deep Choco Bagel with choco latte 🍩🍫🍫🍫🍫🍫 The day after eating this, Mother Nature arrives ☆ Works like a charm, right? Hahaha. Okay, now on to the main event, the Deep Choco Bagel.
Deep Choco Bagel vs. choco baguette: which is better?
Orange Bagel's Deep Choco Bagel (₩6,300) is as rich in chocolate as a choco baguette, but its charm is chewiness instead of crunch, so I vote for the Deep Choco Bagel over the choco baguette. Cut it in half and it's packed with chocolate like a brownie inside.

Deep Choco Bagel cross-section shot

It's crazy T_T It slaps the choco baguette silly T_T Look at the chocolate packed inside like a brownie.
Everyone's going wild over choco baguettes these days, but all you chocolate fanatics, gather here. I'll do the comparison for you.
- Choco baguette: crunchy and rich in chocolate~
- Deep Choco Bagel: chewy and rich in chocolate~
I vote for the bagel over the choco baguette. Sweet, fudgy chocolate goes better with chewy than with crunchy, haha. To all the bread lovers traveling in search of choco baguettes: no need to go far for a great Suwon bakery, haha.

How does the Bacon Egg Mayo Bagel taste?
Orange Bagel's Bacon Egg Mayo Bagel (₩8,500) looks like a model and tastes perfect, a hearty meal bread. Isn't it so pretty, tiny and shiny, like a model?!! And it's not just the looks, the taste is perfect too.

My second kid, who loves bacon, absolutely inhaled it. "Mom, just one bite..." and I barely got a single bite... haha. A very good filling meal bread! I think it would be even better with soup.
How sweet is the Corn Bagel?
Orange Bagel's Corn Bagel (₩6,800) has cream and grilled corn on top and is stuffed with corn cream filling, so in a way it feels even sweeter than the Deep Choco. It looks pretty too.
The coating on the outside seems to be cereal. The crunchy corn crunch gives it a nice texture, haha. The corn flavor isn't too artificial, which I liked. The textbook sweet-and-salty... hahaha.
Anything with cream cheese or chocolate on it must not go in the oven! Careful!
Overall verdict on Orange Bagel
Orange Bagel ticked all three boxes for me: a place that completes a relaxed weekend, a spacious and pleasantly kept space with friendly service, and chewy, varied bagels.
If you're near Suwon Station or around Omokcheon-dong and Gosaek-dong in Gwonseon-gu, looking for special, unique bagels like the Deep Choco Bagel, jambon-beurre bagel and Corn Bagel, plus a Suwon café with a great atmosphere and easy parking, stop by Orange Bagel, full of New York vibes, for a lovely brunch.
