Hi there :) it's Ori Puppy 🐶🐣 Over the weekend I met up with my friends in Hapjeong after a while and had a fun beef party!
I went as a blog reviewer, but since there were four of us there was some extra cost. Still, it was totally worth it — the beef quality was impressive and the prices were reasonable.
Where is Jeongyukdo, and where do you park?

Jeongyukdo is really close to Hapjeong Station — about a 1-minute walk from Exit 5.
We drove, and while the restaurant itself doesn't have parking, there's a Kakao T unmanned lot and a Yonsei paid lot right in front. But getting into the alley by car was a bit tricky — small cars are fine, but ours was on the bigger side. Still, if you're bringing a car into Hongdae, I guess you have to accept a little of this haha...
Inside Jeongyukdo: private rooms and group tables

The interior is decent and clean overall. It was busy and almost every table was taken. There were seats both inside and near the entrance — the inner section was already full, so we sat near the entrance.

There are also group tables and private rooms, so it looks like a good spot for gatherings or company dinners. On one side there's a meat aging room where you can see the meat aging in progress. The drinks fridge was also kept neatly organized, giving the impression they care about hygiene management.
One side dish tray per person, including herring roe jeotgal

As soon as we sat down, the staff set out the basic side dishes. They come one tray per person, which was clean and nice.

There was crunchy scallion salad, pickled onion, and something like dried radish and pickled chili — my friends loved the dried radish the most.
But what really got me was this jeotgal (salted fermented side dish). I don't remember exactly what it was, but I think it was herring roe jeotgal. I refilled it twice haha.
What comes in Jeongyukdo's 99,000-won 1++ hanwoo signature set

This is the two-plus hanwoo (Korean beef) signature set that you can only get at Jeongyukdo. It costs ₩99,000. The 1++ hanwoo set comes with 200g sirloin, 100g rib finger, and 100g chuck flap.

This is the hanwoo doenjang stew (soybean paste stew) that comes with the set — it has meat in it, so the broth was rich and had a nice fattiness, totally delicious. It's spicy and salty, the kind of flavor that calls for soju.

When they laid the meat gently on the charcoal grill, a subtle savory meat aroma spread through the air.

The charcoal heat was strong, so the meat browned quickly without losing its juiciness.

Dipping a well-cooked piece of beef lightly in salt, it was full of juice and chewed soft and tender.

Adding a bit of mushroom and wasabi on top gave it a sharp kick, making it clean and enjoyable.
Finishing with 5,000-won bibim naengmyeon

After enjoying the meat, we ordered the ₩5,000 bibim naengmyeon (spicy cold noodles) as a finishing course ٩( ᐛ )و. Served in a brass bowl, the sauce was just the right balance of sweet, tangy and spicy, cutting through the richness of the meat perfectly. The noodles were chewy too, so we ended the meal on a happy note. Wrapping a leftover piece of hanwoo in the noodles made the flavor even better. I usually prefer mul-naengmyeon (cold noodle soup) over bibim, but this bibim naengmyeon had such a rich, sweet-and-sour sauce that it was really delicious.
Is Jeongyukdo good for a Hapjeong group dinner?
It had been a while since I gathered with my friends, chatted our hearts out and ate delicious meat — such a good time ₍ᐢ.ˬ.ᐢ₎˚୨୧. The meat quality was excellent, and with rooms and group seating well set up, I'd definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for a spot for a Hapjeong gathering or company dinner. If you want to enjoy good aged hanwoo near Hapjeong with friends, be sure to stop by Jeongyukdo, a well-known spot near Hapjeong Station!
