I was in Seongsu and wanted to take some good bread home, so I dropped by LOOOP Bakery (루프)! I only planned to grab a few breads and leave, but the place turned out to be much bigger and more comfortable than I expected, which surprised me.
Seongsu has so many pretty, quirky cafés, but when you actually go, some have cramped seating or are so crowded you can't sit comfortably, right? LOOOP has a big space and roomy seating, so next time I want to come back for coffee instead of takeout. If you're meeting friends in Seongsu or want a break while shopping, it seemed like a good option.
This time I took out a salt bread, a sausage salt bread and two egg tarts, and the bread was really good, so I was happy with the visit!

How to walk to LOOOP Bakery from Seongsu Station Exit 4
LOOOP is an easy walk from Seongsu Station Exit 4. Head from the station toward the Cube Entertainment building, then turn into the alley toward Ttukdo Nongwon. Pass the Bluestone knowledge industry center and the gray building diagonally to your right is LOOOP. It's also close to the Seongsu café street, so it's a nice stop while you wander around.
The most unusual thing was the hours! Unlike typical cafés, coffee and drinks are sold until 2 a.m., which seems handy for people spending late nights in Seongsu. But the bakery only starts selling at noon, so if you want bread early in the morning, definitely check this first.
Looking for a large café in Seongsu? LOOOP Bakery is roomier than expected
What impressed me most at LOOOP was the size of the place, which I noticed before even eating the bread. It's a large bakery café that apparently has a rooftop too, so there are plenty of ways to use the space.
I really only came for takeout, so I had no expectations about the size. But once I went inside, the space was much bigger than I thought! I wondered whether there was really a café in Seongsu where you can sit back and take your time like this.
Seongsu is so popular that sometimes you walk into a café and there's no seat, or there is one but the tables are packed too close together. LOOOP has a big space with seating, so it looked like a relatively comfortable place to spend time. It seemed especially good for meeting a group of friends or taking a coffee break in the middle of a Seongsu date.
I only did takeout this time, so I didn't stay long in the seats, but if I have plans in Seongsu again, it will come to mind as a café option. Personally, when choosing a café in Seongsu, interior matters, but so does having enough space to sit comfortably, and I liked LOOOP on that count. If you're looking for a large Seongsu café to have coffee in, it's worth a visit.
What breads and desserts does LOOOP Bakery sell?
LOOOP isn't just a coffee place: you can also enjoy bakery items and desserts such as salt bread, egg tarts, croissants, cookies and cakes. I heard they also carry vegan bakery items, not just regular ones.
As someone who came for takeout, I liked the variety. Salt bread (a buttery roll with a salty crust), for example, comes not only plain but also in sausage, basil, condensed milk and other types, so you can pick by taste.
There was also a newer dessert called the Agujak cake (아그작 케이크). You crack the fruit-shaped shell to eat it, and inside there's yogurt cream and fruit compote, apparently. I didn't buy it this time, but it looks so unusual that anyone hunting for dessert cafés in Seongsu might be curious.
LOOOP Bakery coffee prices
The coffee menu had plenty of choices too, from Americano and latte to cold brew and filter coffee. An Americano is ₩6,000 and a latte is ₩7,000, a price range you'd expect at large cafés in Seongsu. I didn't order a drink this time, so I can't judge the coffee itself, but next time I want to try it with bread.
From salt bread to egg tarts: 4 pastries to go from LOOOP Bakery
What I took out from LOOOP this time was 1 plain salt bread (₩3,500), 1 sausage salt bread (₩4,500) and 2 egg tarts (₩5,500 each), 4 pieces in total! Prices are based on the posted menu, and the amount you actually pay may differ depending on discounts or promotions.
I wanted to taste a bit of everything, so I picked this combination, and it turned out satisfying.
🥐 Plain salt bread, 3,500 won
You can find salt bread at almost any bakery these days, but that also means you notice the differences in taste. The salt bread I took out from LOOOP was better than I expected. Plain salt bread doesn't have many other ingredients, so you taste the bread itself, and eating it, I understood why this place is worth introducing as a bakery café.
🌭 Sausage salt bread, 4,500 won
Plain salt bread alone felt like not enough, so I picked the sausage salt bread too! It's salt bread with sausage added, so it's a heartier option. If you like salty bread more than sweet desserts, it's worth trying. Taking out the plain and the sausage together let me enjoy two different styles.
🥧 Egg tarts, 5,500 won × 2
Lastly, the egg tart! Personally, it's one of the desserts that catches my eye whenever I visit a bakery café. One felt too few, so I took out two.
Eating two kinds of salt bread plus egg tarts, I could alternate between salty bread and sweet dessert, so the combination worked well. Above all, the bread I took out was tasty overall and I was very satisfied. I stopped by just to buy bread, but I'd happily use the bakery again next time I'm in Seongsu.
Is LOOOP Bakery a good Seongsu café for coffee or group meetups?
With its large space and seating, LOOOP looked like a good café for meeting friends in Seongsu or resting while exploring the café street. Being open until 2 a.m. is also an advantage when you want somewhere to keep talking late after dinner.
I only did takeout this time, but the thought I had most while looking around LOOOP was that next time I should spend time here. Seongsu has lots of famous dessert cafés, but finding one where you can actually stay comfortably is another matter. Especially on weekends or busy hours, you sometimes end up hopping between cafés because there's no seat, right?
Of course it may get crowded depending on when you visit, but the large size and the seating are clear advantages, I think. It seems good when you've agreed to meet friends in Seongsu but haven't picked a café, or when you want a quick rest while browsing the Seongsu café street. The variety of breads and desserts also makes it a good choice for people who find coffee alone not enough.
One drawback: bakery items can sell out late in the day depending on stock, so if you want a particular bread, don't go too late.
My honest verdict on LOOOP Bakery
This visit to LOOOP in Seongsu was about discovering the charm of a place I hadn't expected anything from. I only went to take out some salt bread and egg tarts, but seeing the roomier, comfortable space, I felt I should come back for coffee next time. If you've ever struggled to find a spacious café in Seongsu, a roomy place like LOOOP will feel welcome.
There are three points I'd personally recommend.
- A location that's easy to walk to from Seongsu Station
- A large bakery café with plenty of space and seating
- Salt bread and egg tarts that were satisfying even as takeout
I'd recommend it to anyone looking for a bakery café in Seongsu, and to anyone who wants bread and coffee together at a Seongsu dessert café. Above all, you might be like me: you come just for takeout bread and end up wanting to return because you like the space. Next time I have plans with friends in Seongsu, I'm thinking of stopping by LOOOP to have coffee and take my time. If you want a spacious café in Seongsu or tasty bread to take away, I recommend LOOOP Bakery!
