Every time I go to Seongsu, new cafés keep popping up, so it's hard to decide where to try haha. This time, while walking down a Seongsu alley, a place called LOOOP Bakery caught my eye right away from the exterior.
They have a wide variety of breads and cakes, plus a vegan bakery menu you can browse too, so it was pretty fun just looking around haha.

Where is LOOOP Bakery in Seongsu?
LOOOP Bakery sits at 9-13 Yeonmujang 5-gil, Seongdong-gu, Seoul. You'll find it by walking along an alley where Seongsu's characteristic old buildings mix with trendier modern shops haha.
Just walking around the neighborhood feels like a whole Seongsu outing, so the walk to the café wasn't boring at all haha. It's also a decent location if you're eating near Seongsu Station and then moving on for dessert.
A facade wrapped like a gift box
What caught my eye from a distance was the huge ribbon wrapped around the entire LOOOP Bakery building. Red and green ribbon wound around the white exterior, making it look like a truly giant gift box haha.
Very fitting for a Seongsu café — instead of just hanging up a sign, they turned the entire building into a kind of photo spot. Definitely worth a photo before heading inside haha.
Inside: counters full of bread and cakes
Inside, the space is mostly white and gray tones, giving it a clean, bright feel. The central showcase had cakes lined up, and off to the side were various bakery items like croissants and pastries haha.
When I visited, a lot of the popular breads were already sold out haha. I guess you really do need to get to Seongsu weekend cafés a bit earlier. Just looking at the showcase made me want to grab one of everything.
What vegan bakery items does LOOOP Bakery have?
One thing that stood out at LOOOP was that they have a separate vegan bakery line. The in-store signage clearly distinguishes the basic vegan bakery items from the regular ones, and nut information is displayed in detail for each product.
From vegan brownies to muffins, Earl Grey cookies, and chocolate cookies, there was a surprising range haha. These days a lot of people check not just the taste but the ingredients when choosing dessert, so this kind of labeling makes it much easier to pick something haha.
On the bakery side there was also a sign about a free self-studio you can use, which felt like a fun, very-Seongsu touch.
Mini strawberry cream cake and an Americano, 21,000 won
What I ordered that day was the mini strawberry cream cake for 15,000 won and an Americano for 6,000 won. 21,000 won total haha.
The strawberry cake came in a clear square case, so it looked pretty gorgeous from the moment I got it. Strawberries sat on top of the white cream, and you could see the cross-section of strawberries through the side too — great for photos haha.
When you go hunting for dessert cafés in Seongsu, taste matters but so does a cake you simply can't not photograph, and this was exactly that kind. The cream was soft and light, and with the tartness of the strawberries mixed in, it wasn't as heavy as I expected haha.
Scooping up the sponge, cream, and strawberry together gave a moist, sweet flavor that blended really well. I think this would especially suit people who prefer a clean, light cream cake over something heavy or rich haha.
The iced Americano I ordered alongside it went great with the cake. Sweet bite of cream, cool sip of coffee — that combo is hard to mess up haha. The cake is a mini size, so it's plenty filling for one person, and it was also nice to share it while drinking coffee together.
Is LOOOP Bakery worth it as a Seongsu dessert café?
If you're wandering around Seongsu and looking for a café to take a break in, LOOOP Bakery is worth stopping by. It has a strong visual hook from the exterior, and once inside, the variety of cakes and breads made choosing fun haha.
What also stuck with me was how wide the range of choices was, from regular bakery items to vegan desserts. And most of all, the strawberry cream cake I had that day looked great and paired well with the Americano, so overall I was satisfied haha.
