Whiskey bar near Guro Digital Complex that allows outside food: Doran

When I was heading to a second round after a work dinner near Guro Digital Complex Station and wanted somewhere with a good vibe, good snacks, and good cocktails, I ended up at Doran, a solo bar in the Guro Digital Complex area, haha 😆 The best part? You can freely bring in whatever snacks you want, whether takeout or delivery. Here's my review!

Where is Doran Honsulbar Guro Digital Complex branch, and what are its hours?

Doran Honsulbar Guro Digital Complex branch is on the 2nd floor at 2-4 Jowon-ro 4-gil, Gwanak-gu, Seoul. It's open daily from 20:00 to 04:00 the next day. There's no parking, so use the nearby Gangnam public parking lot.

It's within walking distance of Guro Digital Complex Station, and even though it's on the 2nd floor, there's an elevator so no problem at all! I had fun checking out the cocktail menu posted near the elevator before even going in haha.

You can feel the good vibe even before the door opens lol. This wavy patterned frosted glass is so pretty, don't you think 🤔

What is the inside of Doran Honsulbar like? Dark lighting, moody interior

Inside, Doran Guro Digital Complex branch has a cozy yet stylish interior with fairly dim lighting. There's a big selection of both cocktails and whiskeys, and the men's and women's restrooms are separate.

The moment I walked in, I was so pleased by the cozy yet stylish interior lol. It's been a while since I've been to such a pretty bar, so that made me even happier! Kind of a proud feeling ^__^❤️ If you come here on a date, I think your partner would compliment you for the pick haha.

There are lots of cocktails but also lots of whiskeys, so I'd recommend Doran to anyone who loves good drinks.

The restrooms are separated by gender inside the store, which is convenient. Each is single-occupancy and was clean — nice.

Gorgeous bottles everywhere,, and I even spotted my favorite whiskey, Glenmorangie Signet. A shot is ₩38,000, which is more reasonable than other whiskey bars I've been to..!! I really wanted a glass but held back since it was a work dinner, ugh.

The dim lighting makes everything look flattering ^^ Highly recommend for a blind date! Seriously recommend, haha.

A Seoul bar where you can bring in takeout and delivery food

The biggest perk of Doran Guro Digital Complex branch is that outside food is allowed. You can bring in takeout snacks, and delivery orders are fine too.

• Whiskey highballs available: any whiskey can be made into a highball, with your choice of mixer (soda water, tonic water, or ginger ale).

At most tasty bars and pubs, there usually aren't many places selling snacks to go with your whiskey or cocktails, but Doran Guro Digital Complex branch letting you bring in your own food or delivery is honestly the best perk!! On our way to Doran for our second round, we picked up some old-style fried chicken from a charcoal barbecue chicken place along the way. That's a snack you could never imagine at other pubs, hehe. But at Doran Guro Digital Complex branch, it's totally possible 💓

They give you chicken-flavored crackers as a basic snack! Salty and delicious basic bar snack >_<

We had brought our own fried chicken on the way there, so we laid out our snacks and chatted away — and before long, the cocktails we ordered arrived!

Three cocktails at Doran Honsulbar: James Bond Martini, Long Island Iced Tea, Peach Crush

The cocktails we drank at Doran were a James Bond Martini, a Long Island Iced Tea, and a Peach Crush. ABV was about 15% for the Long Island Iced Tea and about 4% for the Peach Crush.

Personally, I loved how dry and fresh the James Bond Martini was, but if you don't drink cocktails often or prefer something sweet, I wouldn't recommend this one!

The Long Island Iced Tea had a subtle cola scent and was sweet and delicious!! It's sneakily strong though, so be careful — you might get drunk fast while enjoying it lol. It's around 15%, similar to soju, wow!

For anyone who's not great with alcohol and prefers something sweet, I'd recommend the Peach Crush. At around 4% ABV, it's not too strong, making it a solid, easygoing choice for enjoying the mood with others!

There's a sketchbook on the table where visitors have shown off their drawing skills 😃 Everyone was seriously talented, so it was fun to look through them lol. We sneakily drew one too before we left, hehe.

• Reasonable drink prices and a wide variety of menu options
• The owner is kind (and handsome)
• Fun, cozy atmosphere where you can chat with other visitors — 'doran doran' style
• Loved the free-spirited vibe of being able to bring in your own snacks
• Bonus: the dim lighting is flattering ^^ recommend for blind dates

I stumbled on Doran Guro Digital Complex branch while looking for a second-round spot after a work dinner, and it ended up being an unexpected little healing moment. I'd love to come back for a date with my boyfriend next time ❤️
