With a 4.82 rating I had high hopes, and sure enough the place was nearly full when we arrived. Being this busy during a holiday is proof of a real local favorite. I went for the BBQ, he went for the pasta — our top picks ended up split between the two of us :)

Walk in and you're hit with American West vibes right away — arched string lights and cowboy hat decor haha

Above the counter is a sign reading EST 2015. This is the second brand from Rustic House, which started in 2015, and apparently this is their 4th location, more focused on barbecue. Wood-paneled walls, a chandelier, long leather sofa seating — a classic mood that fits a Bojeong-dong café street favorite.

There were couples on dates as well as families, and there were baby chairs set up on one side.

The self-serve bar has sauces, jalapeños, onion slices, shrimp chips, and disposable gloves.

The first dish in the C Set was pulled pork — pork shoulder smoked low and slow, then pulled apart along the grain.

It comes on one plate with 3 butter rolls, French fries, and coleslaw.

Lift it with a fork and the grain holds its shape. In the mouth it melts away, but the strands still have a bit of chew between them. No greasy aftertaste, just a clean finish.

Split open a butter roll and layer in pulled pork, coleslaw, and jalapeños 😋 The fluffy buttery bread, the tender meat, the crisp tang of coleslaw — and jalapeños at the end cutting through so there's no room to feel greasy. This was the one I kept reaching for!! haha

Ragu cheese pasta: good even if you don't like cheese?

Next up was the BEST 3 ragu cheese pasta — made with grana padano, cheddar, and parmesan cheese in a cream base.

Twirl it up with a fork for a bite. The thick cream sauce clings heavily to the noodles, and the cheesy flavor deepens the more you chew. In between, the savory ragu pops through and the mushrooms are chewy. Not a bit of it feels heavy, even to the last strand.

This was the dish my husband, who's not big on cheese, picked as his favorite. If you're looking for pasta in Bojeong-dong, I'd recommend the ragu cheese pasta 👍

What are the shrimp tacos like?

Last up was the shrimp tacos (2pcs, +₩4,000). Instead of hard shells, they're built on soft tortillas piled high with salad, sour cream, chili mayo, Mexican cheese, tomato salsa, and seasoned chili shrimp.

Loaded up with extra tomato salsa for a bite! The Mexican flavors burst through, and behind the crisp salad the chili shrimp pop with a plump bite. All three dishes were a win. A 4.82-rated Bojeong-dong café street favorite — after eating here, I completely get it~!
