Anma Jogyok Cafe Jeonmang is a foot bath and massage café on the second floor of a hanok building on Eunhaeng-ro in Jeonju Hanok Village, Jeonju. After dinner and an evening walk through Jeonju Hanok Village with her husband, the writer sat in a window couples seat for a 40–41°C aroma foot soak, a shoulder massage and tea. Anma Jogyok Cafe Jeonmang makes a fitting date stop to rest after a long walk around Jeonju Hanok Village.

Namdaemun peanut bread shop with Udo-seed peanuts, air-fried: Daesin

Daesin Ttangkong-ppang Namdaemun Market branch is a peanut bread and egg bread snack shop in Namdaemun Market, near Hoehyeon Station Exit 5 in Jung-gu, Seoul. The writer bought 45 peanut breads for ₩6,000, made with peanuts grown abroad from Udo peanut seeds, plus egg bread to go, ate a few on the spot and reheated the rest in an air fryer. Daesin's peanut bread stays nutty even hours later, making it an easy snack to carry around Namdaemun Market.

Solo lunch burger spot by City Hall Station: thick fries at Daily Fix

Daily Fix Euljiro is an American diner-style burger restaurant serving 100% Hanwoo (Korean beef) patties near City Hall Station and Euljiro 1-ga Station in Jung-gu, Seoul. Visiting toward the end of lunch hour, the writer had a bacon cheeseburger, a double cheeseburger, coleslaw and fries, and found Daily Fix Euljiro easy for eating alone thanks to its tables for 2, tables for 4 and larger-group seating. The standout at Daily Fix Euljiro was the thick-cut fries with a fluffy, crumbly texture.

Godeok Station solo diner, karaage curry & spring rolls: Myeon Sikdang

Myeon Sikdang Godeok Station Branch is a Japanese restaurant in Gangdong, Seoul, near Exit 4 of Godeok Station, serving tonkatsu, soba, ramen and rice bowls. On an errand to Godeok Station, the blogger ate alone at a solo seat and ordered the karaage curry rice bowl and mozzarella cheese katsu set plus 2 jjajo (fried spring rolls). The slightly sweet Japanese curry and thick cheese layer stood out, and the set was generous. Myeon Sikdang Godeok Station Branch is a good-value spot for a hearty, relaxed solo meal near Godeok Station.

Apple Smile is a children's clothing shop selling its own Korean-made line at Burdeng Kids' Clothes (부르뎅아동복) unit 12 in Namdaemun Market, Jung-gu, Seoul, open daily 10:00–17:00. On a day when the chilly fall wind had just started, the writer went to Apple Smile for a niece's fall clothes and browsed baby jumpers, outfit sets, cozy lightweight tees, beige and dark gray polka-dot pants, a long padded coat on sale, windbreakers and hooded jumpers. Apple Smile is a good one-stop shop for light, warm fall clothes in sizes from baby to elementary-school girls.

Seokgye Station Korean BBQ: pork belly that tasted like beef, Hanam

Hanam Doeji Jip Seokgye branch is a Korean BBQ restaurant on Seokgye-ro 9-gil in Nowon, Seoul, near Seokgye Station Exit 1, where staff grill Korean Handon pork that has been pre-seared at 500 degrees. Over dinner, the writer and her husband had 2 servings of pork belly and gabrisal (a prized cut from near the pork shoulder), plus doenjang stew (soybean paste stew) and hoe naengmyeon (cold noodles topped with seasoned pollack). The husband was the first to say the pork tasted like beef. Hanam Doeji Jip Seokgye branch suits anyone who wants to skip the grilling and focus on the meat.

Sushi lunch after an autumn palace walk in Gwanghwamun: Elephant Sushi

On her husband's day off, during an autumn palace outing, the writer stopped at Elephant Sushi Gwanghwamun for lunch and shared the 10-piece Elephant A set, the 12-piece Elephant B set, plump shrimp tempura and truffle mayo fries. The thick-cut fish and well-matched rice won over even her picky husband. For a sushi lunch combined with sightseeing or a palace walk in Gwanghwamun, Elephant Sushi Gwanghwamun is a good fit.

Hotel spa near Euljiro 1-ga for poor leg circulation: Da Hanoi

Da Hanoi Foot & Body City Hall President Hotel Branch is a 100-pyeong hotel spa-style massage shop on the B2 floor of the President Hotel in Euljiro, Jung-gu, Seoul. The writer booked ahead and enjoyed a foot bath and welcome tea before a 60-minute aroma basic care with Porcelain White oil (₩77,000 member price). Legs that felt heavy from poor circulation felt lighter and hot stones warmed the lower back, making Da Hanoi Foot & Body a good private place to unwind near Euljiro 1-ga Station.

Nowon Korean set from sesame porridge to tteokgalbi: Sutgarak Masil

Sutgarak Bansang Masil is a long-running fusion Korean set-course (hanjeongsik) restaurant on Nowon-ro near Nowon Station in Seoul. A longtime regular ordered the Masil set and worked through sesame porridge, salad, japchae (glass noodles), bossam (boiled pork), a mustard-sauce cold dish served for the first time, perilla seaweed soup, tteokgalbi (grilled short rib patties), mushroom galbijjim (braised short ribs), lotus seed rice and nurungji (scorched rice). With several private rooms, Sutgarak Bansang Masil is a quiet Nowon pick for family gatherings and in-law meetings.

Salering Gyodae Direct Store is a poke, salad and sandwich shop in Seocho, Seoul, about 195m from Gyodae Station Exit 1. At lunchtime the writer ordered takeout: a flame-grilled steak bibim poke (mixed poke bowl) with rice and oriental sauce, a ham and cheese sandwich and a truffle mushroom soup. The bigger steak portion after the menu renewal and the rich truffle aroma of the mushroom soup stood out. For a light but filling healthy lunch or diet meal near Gyodae Station, Salering Gyodae Direct Store is a good fit.

Nowon Station diet food lunch, steak wasabi bowl in soy sauce: Prefers

Prefers Diet Food Nowon Station branch is a salad and diet-food restaurant near Exit 9 of Nowon Station in Seoul.
