Owlly is on the 2nd floor of the building with Nolbu Budae Jjigae (놀부부대찌개, army stew restaurant) on the 1st floor. The location is good and the signage is easy to spot, so finding it was no trouble. I visited with a Naver reservation, and today's treatment was a cut plus a men's shadow perm and down perm. Waits can happen at a hair salon, so I'd definitely recommend booking before you go.

As you can see, the shop has a modern, no-frills feel. It was quite busy when I visited, and I wasn't trying to eavesdrop, but when you're getting a perm you just hear everything around you... like magic. Most of them seemed to be long-time regulars.

The designers knew all about each customer's recent news the moment they saw them, and the customers seemed really comfortable here. When there are more returning customers than first-timers, it means the skill is outstanding and people settled in because they liked everything... It made me trust the place quite a bit.

The shampoo room was also very clean and relaxing. It's slightly separated from the treatment area, so I could get my hair washed in peace, and the designer's shampooing and scalp pressure felt so good that I kept secretly wishing it wouldn't end,,

There are quite a few ridiculous salons that don't state prices clearly and just write something vague like "price available after consultation depending on hair damage," but at Owlly I could know exactly what my treatment would cost before visiting, which was a relief.

How did the men's shadow perm and down perm consultation go?

Before starting, I had a thorough consultation with the designer about my hair condition and the design I wanted, and it was so easy because she caught on right away and advised me even when I only mentioned my worries and the direction I wanted a little.

During the treatment she also kept explaining my hair condition and how to care for it, so I learned things about my hair I hadn't known, which was nice.

The whole treatment took just over 2 hours, and even as a non-expert I could feel how delicately everything was done, from the cut to the perm to the shampoo. That kind of professionalism and care is probably why the regulars never stop coming.
