Daegu café with astronaut objets and jalapeño jambon-beurre: Hands

I was hunting for a good brunch spot in Dong-gu and ended up at Hands Coffee Dongchon Resort Branch, one of Daegu's large-format cafés.

I usually love cafés where you can have a relaxed brunch with a cup of coffee, and this place caught my eye because the building was huge and the interior atmosphere seemed unique.

Parking and the size of Hands Coffee Dongchon Resort Branch

When I visited in person, the outdoor parking space was plenty, so it was convenient to come by car.

The building has a red brick exterior with big windows on every floor, so it caught my eye even from a distance, and once inside, the space was much larger than I expected.

🪵 The mood inside: concrete walls and antique wood

Hands Coffee Dongchon Resort Branch had a mood that felt a bit different from a typical café.

Concrete walls blend naturally with wooden furniture, and antique furniture and props are scattered throughout, so it was fun to slowly look around.

The old-feeling wooden furniture paired with warm lighting created a strangely comfortable atmosphere in particular.

The round frames and flower decorations on the wall also caught my eye — little props like these were scattered all over the café, making it a great place for photos too.

And personally, what I found most fun was the astronaut objet. 🚀

Near the windows there are props styled to look like an astronaut and a spaceship, which gave a totally different vibe from the café's vintage atmosphere.

As you look around the space, there are points here and there that make you think 'wait, what's this?' — never boring.

🦌 Window seats and the deer objet

One of the spaces I really wanted to photograph was the window side. Wooden tables and chairs line up along the big windows, styled together with plants and a deer objet, giving off a warm yet natural feel.

The objet styled like a deer family in particular was so cute I ended up staring at it for a while.

With the natural light coming through the windows and the green scenery added, it felt like a great space to relax for a bit while drinking coffee.

🥪 What comes in the Double Tray Hands Brunch Set C, and the price

I ordered the Double Tray Hands Brunch Set C for ₩25,800, and two Americanos at ₩5,000 each.

The jalapeño jambon-beurre and chicken granola salad come together on a two-tier tray, so it already looked pretty gorgeous the moment it landed on the table.

I tried the jambon-beurre first.

Between the bread there was ham, vegetables, and butter, along with jalapeños, so the salty ham flavor got a subtle kick of heat added to it.

Especially in the photo, you can see that with each bite you get the bread, ham, and jalapeño all together, which I loved.

The bread was slightly crispy on the outside while soft and fluffy inside, so the texture was nice too. Thanks to the jalapeño, it cut through what could otherwise have felt heavy, keeping the flavor clean.

How the chicken granola salad tasted

The chicken granola salad looked appetizing right away thanks to its colorful presentation.

Fresh vegetables were topped with chicken breast, granola, and cherry tomatoes, with crunchy bits here and there, making it quite filling for a salad.

The nutty, crunchy granola paired well with the moist chicken breast in particular, and a refreshing dressing was added so it never felt heavy.

☕ Two iced Americanos with the brunch set

For drinks we ordered an Americano and an iced Americano. Since the brunch was on the salty and savory side, it paired well with the coffee.

Sitting by the window with a cup of coffee, looking around, felt like a moment of rest from a busy day.

Above all, I loved that the seating was so varied. There were window seats with a view, and wooden tables good for sitting with several people, so it seemed like a fine place to visit alone or with friends and family.

🌿 Is this large Daegu café worth a visit?

Hands Coffee Dongchon Resort Branch felt less like a place you just grab coffee and brunch and leave, and more like somewhere fun to slowly explore.

From antique wood furniture to flower decorations, deer objets, and astronaut props, each space had a little something different to look at, which also made it great for photos.

Brunch was heartier than I expected, too, making it a nice place to relax over coffee.

If you're looking for a good-atmosphere café in Dong-gu, Daegu, or want to enjoy brunch and coffee in a spacious setting, this is worth a visit. Especially if you're hunting for a brunch spot in Dong-gu or a large café near Dongchon Resort, I'd recommend it for the fun of exploring the space alone 😊
