In short
Baut is a brunch café on Dongbu-ro 26-gil in Dong-gu, Daegu, that fills an entire three-story building marked by a blue door. A season salad at 12,000 won, a green onion jambon sandwich at 12,500 won and an americano at 4,800 won made an easy meal, eaten slowly in seats that feel different on each floor. I recently wanted to enjoy a leisurely brunch, so I visited Baut, a brunch café near Dongdaegu Station.

From the clean exterior to the stylish interior, I loved everything about it — a great place to relax over good brunch and coffee.

What the blue door and three-story building at Baut look like
Baut's exterior felt clean and stylish from the start. The blue door at the entrance especially stood out and caught my eye before I even went in.
Once inside, I found that the whole building is used as the café, with seating available up to the third floor.

There's no elevator, but climbing the stairs is fun in itself since each floor has a different atmosphere.

Seating and atmosphere on each floor of Baut
The seating at Baut is spread across several different spaces, so it felt more spacious than I expected,

and the sunlight coming in by the window was lovely too. It seemed like a nice, uncluttered space to chat over brunch.

What we ordered at Baut and what it cost
- Season Salad: ₩12,000
- Green Onion Jambon Sandwich: ₩12,500
- Americano: ₩4,800
- Iced Americano: ₩4,800

Season salad, 12,000 won
First, the season salad arrived with various ingredients and figs all on one plate, looking really appetizing.

Fresh vegetables mixed with fruit and cheese meant the flavor shifted a little with every bite.
The vegetables tasted crisp and fresh, and the fruit added a subtle sweetness.

On top of that, the nutty, soft flavor of the cheese rounded it all out — clean overall but not bland.
The dressing wasn't strong enough to cover the ingredients' flavors, so it was easy to eat without feeling heavy. I thought it was a great choice when you want a light brunch.
Green onion jambon sandwich, 12,500 won

This is a sandwich with jambon and green onion tucked inside a crisply toasted baguette.

With the first bite, the baguette's signature crunch hit first, then the jambon and green onion inside came through with a salty yet clean flavor.
The green onion in particular gave it a different charm from a typical sandwich. Its mild aroma paired really well with the jambon's salty taste, and I liked the textural contrast between the crisp bread and the soft filling. Of everything I ordered that day, the green onion jambon sandwich stood out most to me.
At first I wondered how the green onion and jambon combination would taste, but once I tried it, the flavors matched better than I expected, and I enjoyed it a lot.
Americano, 4,800 won
The coffee I ordered alongside brunch deserves a mention too.

The iced americano was clean and refreshing, pairing well with the sandwich,

while the hot americano was nice to sip slowly while chatting.
Is Baut worth a second visit?
