Stroller-friendly Magok taco restaurant: fajita couple set, Taqueros

Taqueros Magok Main Branch is a Mexican family restaurant on the 2nd floor of GMG Tower, near Exit 3 of Magok Station in Gangseo, Seoul. The writer visited Taqueros with a baby and a stroller, chose fajita for the Taqueros Signature Couple Set (56,000 won) and ate it with fish and chicken tacos, enjoying the roomy space and generous portions. Verdict: the first taco place besides On the Border that truly satisfied the writer, and worth a return visit.

Seooreung Chinese restaurant: thin-noodle tofu jjamppong, free rice

Jjamppong Jijeon Seooreung Branch (짬뽕지존 서오릉점) is a Chinese restaurant specializing in jjamppong (spicy seafood noodle soup) on Seooreung-ro in Deogyang-gu, Goyang, Gyeonggi. On a drive to Ilsan with her husband and baby, the writer ordered tofu jjamppong noodles, Jijeon jjajang (black bean sauce noodles) and a small glutinous-rice tangsuyuk (sweet and sour pork), and received jjamppong dumplings on the house. The tofu jjamppong at Jjamppong Jijeon Seooreung Branch has thin, light noodles and a rich broth that is perfect for stirring in free rice from the self-serve bar.

Garden café near Ilsan: hydrangea terrace & mango bingsu, Baedagol

Baedagol Bakery House is a large bakery café on Hoguk-ro in Deogyang-gu, Goyang, Gyeonggi, often visited as an Ilsan café near Seoul. On a weekday lunch visit the main lot was full, so the writer parked in Lot 3 across the road, walked the hydrangea-filled terrace garden, then had fresh mango snow bingsu (25,000 won) and tiramisu in a 2nd-floor room seat. Baedagol Bakery House is a garden café well worth recommending for a visit with your parents.
