What is Yangnam Yanghwa Yeongdeungpo Main Branch?
Yangnam Yanghwa (양남양화) Yeongdeungpo Main Branch is a premium all-you-can-eat lamb restaurant on Yeongdeungpo-ro 18-gil, a 4-minute walk from Yangpyeong Station Exit 2. It's open daily from 12:00 to midnight all year round, and it works like a grilling omakase: staff grill lamb ribs, loin and other cuts for you, one-on-one.
Lamb can taste so different depending on who's grilling it, right? So I went to this Yeongdeungpo lamb rib place, where an expert grills everything just right from start to finish. It's an all-you-can-eat course, but the meat quality and service were as good as a high-end omakase, and I left genuinely impressed.

How to get there from Yangpyeong Station, and the exterior
If you stroll over from Yangpyeong Station, the tidy exterior catches your eye pretty quickly. It sits neatly inside an alley.
You can feel the refined premium-dining mood from the entrance.

Counter seats with clear partitions
Inside, every seat is a counter seat. Each spot has a clear partition, so you get that counter-dining vibe while still being able to chat privately with your group.

There are plenty of hangers on the wall, so in the chilly season that's coming up you can hang a thick coat or puffer jacket without it soaking up the smell.

Table setting and welcome drink
The basic table setting comes neatly laid out with crunchy pickled gungchae (celtuce stem), pickled radish wraps, and a range of sauces: Maldon salt, cumin (jjiran), wasabi, ranch and mint jelly. Before the meal they also bring a welcome drink with fresh lemon, which really perked up my appetite!

All-you-can-eat lamb rib course grilled one-on-one by staff
Once the grill heats up, a staff member takes charge of your table and starts grilling the meat one-on-one.

And of course I had a refreshing highball, which is a must with good meat.

True to a premium all-you-can-eat course, they grill everything from lamb ribs to other cuts, kindly explaining each cut's character and texture preferences as they go.

They grill it just the way you like, juicy all the way through, and place it on your small plate piece by piece, so all we had to do was eat.

They also grill green onions and mushrooms golden in the meat fat, so the flavor is explosive!

No gamey smell at all, and the tender, chewy texture fills your mouth. It was heavenly. I could see why people name Yangnam Yanghwa when they talk about the best lamb ribs in Yeongdeungpo.

Lamb ribs dipped in cumin and Maldon salt
Dipping it first in the special cumin really brings out the lamb's natural flavor. A light dip in Maldon salt doubles the savory richness of the juices.

Cheongyang chili soy sauce, refilled without asking
The staff kept checking whether we needed anything throughout the meal. They noticed me picking only the chilies out of the Cheongyang chili soy sauce and refilled it to the brim before I said a word. I was so touched!
The look of the meat turning golden on the grill is honestly a work of art.

Later in the meal they grill pineapple and onion, which is a nice fresh reset.

Sides: bibim-myeon, garlic rice and seafood ramyeon
The bibim-myeon (spicy cold noodles) I ordered as a side came with ice, so the noodles were chewy and the sauce was the perfect strength. Wrapping a piece of warm lamb together with the noodles was pure bliss!

The garlic rice, with its fragrant garlic aroma, is a perfect match for the meat too.

Enough lamb for two without any refills
The base portion of the course is so generous for two people that we got nicely full without needing a single refill.

I was already stuffed, but one sip of the seafood ramyeon broth and I couldn't put my chopsticks down. The noodles were boiled firm and chewy, and the broth was cool and spicy, a perfect finish!

Orange sherbet to finish, and Febreze on the way out
The real last step of the course is a sweet-tart homemade orange sherbet to cleanse the palate! All the grease just washes away.
On your way out, give yourself a spritz of the Febreze set by the door!

There's a good waiting area for customers in line, and the restroom inside the restaurant is kept very clean.
