Pohang Western restaurant for spicy chop steak: Plan A Restaurant

On the second day of my Pohang trip, I stopped by Plan A Restaurant (플랜에이레스토랑), opposite Songdo Beach, for a late breakfast. It is a place where you can have Western food while looking out at the sea, and the view beyond the window stayed with me as much as the meal did.

Where is it near Songdo Beach, and what was parking like?

The restaurant is on the fourth floor at 1189 Huimang-daero, Nam-gu, Pohang. During my visit, I could use the public parking lots in front of and behind the building for free, which was convenient while traveling by car. Songdo Beach is about a five-minute drive from Jukdo Market, so it was easy to include in my itinerary.

Can you see the sea from the window, and was there a wait?

Songdo Beach stretched out in full view through the floor-to-ceiling windows. The weather was clear, and I enjoyed taking in the sea. The window seats seemed to be the most popular, and although I wanted one too, I did not want to wait long during my trip.

Fortunately, one seat was available when I arrived, so I was seated by the window right away. Not long afterward, the restaurant filled up and a wait began.

Before eating, I stepped out onto the terrace to look at Songdo Beach. It felt as though I was seeing the sea from closer up than through the indoor windows.

What did I order, and how much did it cost?

I chose the chop steak and carbonara, with lemonade alongside. I added the fried king prawns later after seeing another table order them. These are the items and prices recorded in my original post.

Did the spicy chop steak go well with the carbonara?

For the beef chop steak, I could choose either the original flavor or a mildly spicy version with chili oil. Since I planned to have it with the cream-based carbonara, I chose the spicy version. It came with fries and salad, and felt like a generous main dish for two people to share.

The beef was tender rather than tough. The mushrooms and bell peppers added texture, and the sauce had just a slight kick that kept me reaching for more.

The carbonara spaghetti had a pleasantly soft cream sauce. It was mild and smooth rather than overly thick or rich, so it was good to alternate with the spicy chop steak.

Alternating between the pasta and chop steak, then refreshing my palate with lemonade, made for a combination I enjoyed. Eating while looking out at the sea also added to my satisfaction with the meal.

How were the fried king prawns I added?

At first, I planned to order only the two main dishes, but I added the fried prawns after seeing another table eat them.

The coating was not the only substantial part; the prawns were full of meat inside, giving them a plump texture. Since I usually enjoy prawns, I ate everything from the heads to the tails.

Is it easy to pair a meal here with a beach walk?

The biggest advantage for me was being able to combine a meal with a walk along Songdo Beach. It was in a location where I could eat, then immediately walk around and look at the sea. I thought it would suit a trip meal with family or friends, or a post-meal walk with a partner.
