What is Diaz Cake Boutique like?

Diaz Cake Boutique (디아즈케이크부띠끄) is one of the stores of Café Diaz, which is super famous in Suwon for its cakes, and it's the one that sells cakes a bit more specialistically. Diaz has 3 stores in Suwon, and two of them are in the same building. I've been to both, which have totally different moods, and this time I revisited Diaz Cake Boutique. It had been a while, so there were new cake menu items, and I tried the fig cake that instantly caught my eye!

The 4th-floor store is big and open, so it feels right for meeting in a group and chatting loudly, while Diaz Cake Boutique on the 2nd floor feels good for a date or a cozy chat with a friend.

What's on the cake menu at Diaz Cake Boutique?

Diaz Cake Boutique has a wide variety of cake slices. Honestly, I went because I wanted the Basque cheesecake, but it was sold out. So I looked around for another cake, and the fig cake especially stood out.

Can you buy a whole cake?

Café Diaz is really good at cakes, and their whole cakes are really popular too. I once had a whole fruit cake and was surprised at how incredibly delicious it was compared to how it looked.

Diaz whole cakes come in various sizes and tiers, so you can order the one you want in advance, or buy one that's already made. That makes it a great place when you suddenly need a cake in a hurry.

What's the difference between Diaz's 2nd and 4th floors?

Diaz Café is on the 4th floor of the same building, and Diaz Cake Boutique is on the 2nd. They're the same Diaz, but the 4th floor feels like a big café for enjoying coffee and cake, while the 2nd floor feels quieter, good for tea and cake (just my personal impression!!). And the menu is the same on the 2nd and 4th floors!!!

Below is the inside of Diaz Cake Boutique on the 2nd floor. From the outside it looks like just this, so I bet some people think these are all the tables in the store.

But if you go further in, there's a long group table with great natural light.

The teapots, teacups and tin cases displayed in the wall cabinet looked so cute and pretty.

I took this sofa table by the aisle.

It's such a pretty café with a princess-y vibe.

How does the fig cake at Diaz Cake Boutique taste?

These are the three things I ordered at Diaz Cake Boutique that day.

• Fig cake (cake slice)

Not long ago I watched a video on the YouTube channel Charles Enter of Jae-young Go and Charles on a date. They ate fig bingsu (shaved ice) there... and suddenly I wanted figs too.

But I never thought I'd end up eating a cake packed with this many figs..

It looks like a single slice must hold several figs.

Diaz is originally famous in Suwon as a go-to for fruit cakes, and true to that reputation, the fig cake was delicious too.

The sponge is so soft and the fresh cream is soft too,, the two go together really well.

Who is Diaz Cake Boutique recommended for?

I'd recommend Diaz Cake Boutique to anyone who wants to enjoy delicious cake together with a calm space. It's great for meeting a friend or a date, and also for a get-together where you want to eat something tasty in a pretty place and set the mood.
